I opened it, and pushed them into a— “Do you live here?” I looked from the enormous bed to Sinclair.

“No.”

“Then why is there a—never mind.” I slammed the door in his face. Through it, I shouted, “Lock it!” I waited until I heard the slide of a lock before I strode away.

When I reached the front room, I heard the door open again. “What the fuck?” I turned to see Sinclair coming out without his jacket, his sleeves rolled up to show corded forearms. “Get back in there!”

“I'm not leaving you to defend my shop alone.”

“Fine, just stay back, behind my left side.” I went to the window.

The man was still there—tall, built like a Mac truck, with shaggy dark hair and a bulge in his jeans. Not the good kind of bulge. He crossed the street in a lope. I eased back from the window, and went to the door.

“Lock it after me.” I opened the door just as the man reached for the handle.

A pair of hazel eyes widened at the sudden swing of the door. Using his shock to my advantage, I grabbed his thick wrist, spun, and brought him face-down on the wet sidewalk.

“What the fuck?!” the man roared and bucked.

I dropped my left knee between his shoulder blades, pinning his wrist behind his back, and swept his waistband with my free hand. I was just about to grab the man's gun when a bellow of laughter came from the door.

Sinclair leaned against the jamb, his arms crossed and his dark hair tousled. “Nicely done, Diana. I haven't seen anyone drop Jason in . . . well, a very long time.”

“Shut up, Sin!” The man bucked me off. “I didn't want to hurt her.”

Sinclair laughed harder.

I bounced up to my feet. “Shit! You know him?” I asked Sinclair.

“Yes, stand down, Ms. Christos.” Sinclair stepped back. “This is my old friend, Jason. Jason, this is my new friend, Diana.”

“I'm really sorry about that.” I dusted off my hands. “I have a client who's being stalked, and you—” I waved at his jeans. “You're packing.”

Jason raised an eyebrow. “Thank you for noticing.”

Sinclair lost his smirk. “She's means your gun, asshole.”

Jason grinned at him. “I know what she means.”

“Dear God, save me from alpha males.” I shook my head and went back into the shop.

Jason chuckled. “She thinks we're alpha males.”

“Yes, she's a quick one,” Sinclair drawled.

The door shut, and I turned to face them. Two of the most handsome men I'd seen in my life, and I'd met them within a half an hour. And they were friends. But something felt off. While Sinclair made me shiver in desire, Jason—who was just as attractive, perhaps even more so—made me shiver in revulsion.

I narrowed my eyes at Jason. “You got a CHL for that gun?”

“I do. You got a badge for that attitude?” Jason shot back.

“Oh, you want an attitude?” I pulled out my phone and snapped a picture of him.

“What the—” He lunged for me.

I braced myself, but Sinclair caught him and held him back with one hand.

“Easy now. She's my guest.” Sinclair's sexy drawl went hard.
