“No, Chris.”

He released a long, “Fine.”

Chuckling, I darted into the bathroom to pee before I had to review all this info.

I sat in front of the pinboard with rapt attention. Chris had an old school wooden pointer, and I had zero idea where he’d found it.

He smacked Aaron’s picture, making me wince, and said, “Now according to his class schedule—”

“You have his class schedule?”

Chris rolled his eyes. “Of course I do. Who the hell do you think I am?”

“Where did you get that on a Sunday morning?”

“I asked Carter, who asked Devon, who’s friends with Aaron’s roommate’s girlfriend’s cousin. Don’t worry, it can’t be traced back to us.”

I blinked.

“Anyway, back to the important bit,” he said, punctuating it with another ear-splitting crack of the pointer. “According to his class schedule, Aaron is in our Intro to English class. While he’s a senior, he left some of his General ED until last. So we’re lucky to have him, but it’s a perfect time for you to sit next to him.”

“Next to him? Like, right next to him?”

“Yes! Right beside him. Ass in the chair right next to his, thighs smooching, which means we have to go early. The dude is popular.”

I groaned. It was already a seven-thirty class. Now, I had to get up and be there even earlier?

“Hey, do you think romance just happens?”

“Yes,” I replied with a shrug.

“Wrong,” Chris snapped, smacking the pointer into the board. “You make it happen.”

A smile tugged at my lips, and I tried to contain the noise bubbling up, but it burst out. I bent over in a fit of laughter. “How many times have you said that?”

Chris chuckled and plopped onto my lap as soon as I straightened. All my laughter died in a flash. I swallowed as I became very aware of his full ass pressing against me. My cock twitched, and I prayed, like actually prayed, I wouldn’t pop a boner while he was on top of me. My sweats would hide nothing. Literally, had no idea what the fuck was going on with me, but I didn’t want to make our friendship awkward. Dick poking his ass would definitely accomplish that.

“A lot. I’ve said it so many times,” he said, but his voice was sad.

I frowned. “What’s wrong?”

He shrugged.

“Chris?”

“I’ve said it to so many people. A lot of people ask for my romance advice.”

“Yeah.”

“They never ask me out. They never want to make it happen with me.”

My frown deepened. That didn’t make any sense. He was always hooking up with people, wasn’t he? He never told me their names and I’d never met any of them, but he was constantly with people. Right? He had to be.

Chris shook his head. “Whatever.” He glanced at me. “But remember, if Aaron says no, we’re done. No is no. Okay? No chasing or pleading or trying to change his mind.”

“I know.”

He smiled. “That’s because you’re a decent person.”
