Yes. That would be much better.

“Oh no, you aren’t going to change the topic yet.”

Raxius sounded entirely too stern for my liking.

“There are many important things we should discuss.”

I just wasn’t sure what they were at the moment.

“We’re going to finish the current topic first, brat.”

I was not a brat and he needed to learn the definition of that word better. It was clear the translation spell had not worked right in some ways.

“You are the one who kept telling me our relationships would not be completely equal as I was told it should be. You are Shiloh’s Daddy and primary caretaker when his little side is strongest. He needs that from you and you need to provide it.”

There was a questioning tone to his voice that made me send him back agreement when he paused but I wasn’t sure where the conversation was going. Agreeing with him was always dangerous because he was smart and liked to surprise me.

“You seem to think our relationship should be completely equal, though.”

No…well, maybe?

“That is just logical?”

It had to be.

“What if you are two parts? One who provides caretaking to Shiloh in the form of being his Daddy and one who provides caretaking for me in the form of being my submissive when we are intimate.”

Ignoring the part of me that was stubborn and immediately reactive, I focused on his question and his needs. He had strong needs to dominate and they might not all be satisfied finding ways to spank Shiloh.

“We are both strong individuals.”

And that seemed to be associated with high needs because I knew many unintelligent individuals who were what the people around the gate called low-maintenance.

“Strong individuals have different needs. We just did not understand that before.”

Raxius paused his thoughts as he continued to stroke his hand over my head. When he finally started to speak, his grip on me tightened.

“What if my original difficulties in getting to know you was because we were both strong but I did not understand my needs? I was told that my behavior was always wrong and I did my best to control it but that made me frustrating.”

Yes.

Agreeing with him too strongly might provoke his dominant tendencies, though, so I tried to frame my words carefully.

“My caretaking needs have not always been appreciated, so I may not have explained myself well when we first met.”

Having the additional information about our personalities had changed much about our relationship.

“You have very strong caretaking needs, so what if we practiced you giving me caretaking by submitting to me?”

Pleasure pulsed through the bond, but it took me a moment to realize what it was connected to.

My submission.

My mate desired my submission.
