He nodded, eyes finding mine as his body stayed in repose. “Yeah.” He glanced away, his cheeks turning red.

“Ohh, you need to tell me what you want to get now.”

His eyes flicked back to mine, but he still didn’t say anything.

I pursed my lips at him, narrowing my gaze. “Do I need to torture you for the story? You know,” I teased, running my fingertips along a rare bare patch of skin on his right side. “We haven’t tried the cage with the sound.”

His eyes grew wide even as he scoffed. “Not a chance. I’ll tell you.”

I smiled, knowing I’d gotten my way, per usual.

He shifted up on his elbows, making his torso curl in the most delectable way, showing off his muscled, inked chest. “I want to get one for you.”

I gasped, my breath catching. “For . . . for me?” I choked out.

He nodded, finding my eyes once again. “Yes. I want one with an angel wing that says ‘baby.’”

Tears shot to my eyes with a swiftness I wasn’t expecting. “Oh, Henry . . .”

“Too much?”

I shook my head emphatically. “It’s beautiful.” I sniffed, tears leaking down my cheeks. “You’d do that for me?”

Henry raised up to sitting, nodding back. “Of course. I love you, Tris. Even if, god forbid, this thing between us doesn’t work out long-term—which I sincerely doubt, by the way—I want to remember this time with you. How you’re my Angel Baby, even when you’re being my Devil Daddy.”

I snickered. “I am, aren’t I?”

He reached for the hand lying on the bed between us, lifting it to his lips and planting a kiss on my fingers. “You are.”

I sat up to match him, an idea forming. One I instantly loved. “Oh! We need to get matching tattoos!”

He raised one eyebrow, and if I hadn’t just come twice, I’d have jumped him. Fuck, that was hot.

“Well, not matching, per se. Just tattoos for each other. We could even go at the same time.”

He blinked over at me. “Wait—you don’t have any tattoos, Tris. Do you even want one?”

I nodded. “From the moment I noticed yours, I’ve been toying with the idea of getting one. Or a few, maybe, eventually.” I trailed my fingers along the many dark lines embellishing his chest. “These are gorgeous, and I love the idea of doing it together. Marking each other, in a way. Permanently.”

I reached for his hand this time, placing it over my heart before I rested my hand over his.

“You’re in my heart now, Henry, and I’m in yours. That doesn’t go away. You’ve permanently altered me on the inside, and I want my outside to match.”

His eyes glistened, and he leaned in for a quick kiss. “If you’re sure . . .”

I nodded once. “I’m sure.”

His eyebrow wiggled playfully. “What will you get?”

“Hmm . . . I think I’ll get one that says ‘yes, Daddy.’”

Henry threw his head back and laughed. “Oh fuck, that’s amazing.”

I giggled, feeling light and free. “That fits then. Because I’m amazing.” I flicked imaginary hair from my shoulder, and my Daddy lost it, his laughs filling the room with warmth as he curled up on the bed, holding his stomach. I couldn’t help but join in, and several minutes later, we were tangled up in each other, abs sore from our laughter fit.

I kissed his chest lightly. “Hey, Daddy?”

“Yes, my Angel Baby?”
