I glanced around and pointed. “Over there.” I sighed.
About six men were yanking and banging on the chain fence we’d put up. I marched over and glowered at them.
“Back the fuck up,” I ordered. They all turned to me and hissed. I shook my head. “How fuckin’ high are you?”
The nearest one to me snarled and snapped his teeth.
“Have to say, for a bunch of drunks, they’ve pretty good costumes on,” Vengeance commented.
“Don’t let Tinkerbell see. We’ll have frozen zombies. Mind you,” I said idly as I eyed the idiots snapping and snarling at me, “we could always then use a sledgehammer to smash them up. Makes it easier to move the bodies if they’re already ground fish chow.”
“What is the matter with you?” Vengeance demanded, and I grinned.
One of the men grabbed at me, and I slapped his hand back. “Damn, his skin feels cold and rubbery. Nice effect.”
“I’ve had enough…” Vengeance breathed as one focused on her. “Where’s the fog coming from?” she murmured, raising her hands.
“I just saw that. They promised clear skies tonight,” I muttered. Stupid weather on TV. They never got it right.
“Oh well. It will hide me doing this.” Vengeance smirked, and some tree roots came from under the ground. One minute there were six men in front of us; the next, they were gone, and everything was settled.
“I fuckin’ love when you do that. Where did you put them?”
“In the woods. They can wander around for a couple of hours and sober up.”
“This fog’s a concern,” I muttered. “Usually, it rolls in off the Atlantic, but it’s coming from inland for once.”
“Nobody’s riding tonight, Prez,” Vengeance replied.
“I know, but it still makes me unsettled. You know how it is,” I stated with one last look.
“You have to worry about something,” Vengeance complained, and I shrugged.
“Too true. Come on, there’s a party waiting for us.”
Vengeance turned and headed inside, but I paused and watched the fog creep closer. Maybe it was because it was Halloween, but there was an eerie creepy as fuck vibe about it. I glanced once more and followed Vengeance. I didn’t like this.
Belladonna
Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Even Blade and Dagger, who had dressed like the girls in the Shining. It made me happy to see the whole crowd letting their hair down. Halloween was for everyone, and I’d fight that battle. I’d hired some guards for the gates tonight and some bartenders so the prospects got to enjoy the evening.
It did make me laugh, though, how we all still wore our cuts over our outfits, even if they didn’t match. Most of the guests had also dressed up, which I loved seeing. The food was devoured, and the caterers cleaned up before leaving.
The gathering showed no signs of slowing, though.
Good, because the RHMC could party until dawn broke and then onwards.
I looked at the decorations and grinned. These had cost a whack, but I hoped that, as my sisters enjoyed themselves so much, we might repeat this. I’d love to make it an annual event, and next year we could go even bigger!
Sapphire
“Sapphire, an alarm’s just gone off at one of the motels, the east side one,” Sparrow said, approaching me at the party. Fuck, Belladonna would lose it.
“Did you pull the cameras?” I asked, standing up.
“Yeah, we’re getting nothing, which is concerning. The whole club’s here; let’s take a few and leave the rest. That way it doesn’t end up ruined for Belladonna and the others,” she replied.
“Okay. Get Dagger, Blade, Vengeance, Storm, and Tinkerbell. We’re riding; stay here, Sparrow,” I ordered. She went to argue, and I shook my head. “One of us needs to be here.”
