Nash looked away.
I kept going. “And I started seeing him.”
“How long?”
“Three years.”
His head turned back. “Three years?”
“Yes.”
He stared at me. “You were with a married man for three years?”
“Yes.”
“And you knew the whole time?”
There was no softness in that question. It hurt, but I deserved the question.
“Yes. I knew he was legally married the entire time.”
Nash stood and my stomach dropped. I immediately reached for my purse.
He frowned. “What are you doing?”
“Leaving.”
“Why?”
I stared at him. “You stood up.”
“I needed to fucking stand up, Blair.”
“Oh.”
“Can I process this shit before you run out the door?”
I slowly put my purse back down. Nash walked toward the kitchen.
I heard the refrigerator open and close before he came back with a bottle of water. He drank half the bottle then stood across from me.
“Three years.”
“I know.”
“You met his wife?”
“Not until the end.”
“And before then, you never talked to her?”
“No.”
“Never asked her?”
“No.”
“Never tried to confirm anything he told you?”
