‘Sure, go ahead.’

‘After this meeting, if you have plans to meet someone else, let me know. I’ll adjust my time.’

‘Oh, definitely not. Two guys are enough for a day.’

‘So, what do you do?’

‘I’m a lawyer practising in family court. Kind of a divorce expert, you could say.’

‘Wow! You’re the first female lawyer I have met. Do you really get people divorced?’

‘Well, to be honest, a divorce is finalized before it even reaches the court. We just help people out with documentation and settlements.’

‘Why do people get divorced?’

‘For many reasons.’

‘Still, can you name the one that leads to most divorces?’

‘Umm … mostly because people don’t know what they want from their lives.’

‘Do you know what you want from your life?’

‘A little bit, I guess. What about you?’

‘I have no clue.’

‘Let it be. Why are we even talking about divorce and everything?’

‘So, you still want to get married? After handling so many divorce cases at court every day?’

‘To be honest with you, I really don’t. I come here to meet guys so that my family will leave me alone for a while. I reject them randomly.’

‘Next time onwards, reject software engineers right away. Why bother meeting them?’

‘Yeah, that’s the plan.’

‘Okay, listen, if you’re going to reject me anyway, just help me out. Go and tell your family that you didn’t like me. My family will pester me, otherwise.’

‘Done. You don’t want to get married?’

‘Nope.’

‘Why? Busy with something?’

‘Yeah … maybe … no. Maybe I don’t know, yaar. What about you?’

‘I was involved once, not now. Don’t believe in marriage.’

‘Then tell your parents that. Why tear apart so many software engineers?’

‘Yeah, you’re right. I should make them understand.’

‘You’ll get away with it today. God knows how many Sundays I’ll have to waste after this. Give me a foolproof idea to avoid this.’

‘If only I could. Why else would I have come here to meet that idiot today?’

‘You are gonna call me an idiot too later, aren’t you?’
