She Walks with Broken Things

by A.K. Rose

I unleashed a moan, pressing harder, driving deeper. Thrashing my head from side to side. Until—

White sparks danced behind my eyes.

That pulse gripped tighter.

His voice echoed deep.

I could almost feel his mouth against my ear again.

His chest at my back.

His hands forcing mine lower.

My hips bucked. Warmth exploded.

Again.

A sound came. Faint. Distant. But I couldn’t stop… not even if I wanted to. And I didn’t want to. I gripped the side of the bath and unleash a moan. I slammed my knees together as my body pulsed and tightened. The pulse was thunder, the rush a roar inside my head.

I held onto the side of the tub as my body quietened. But the ache didn’t ease.

It sharpened.

Into him.

“Oh, God.” I eased my hips back down, sliding deeper into the water.

The heat not as consuming now.

No.

It was all inside me.

I lay there as it crept into my cheeks. Then slowly, I lathered the cloth and ran it over my body and between my thighs. By the time I was washed and my hair rinsed the water was barely warm. I pulled out the plug and slowly rose.

My arms trembled. My body felt loose and heavy.

I grabbed the towel and dried before turning to the nightgown.

I could go to him.

That’s why Vivienne sent it, wasn’t it?

Because somewhere deep down…she already knew.

This one comes with me.

He wanted me.

I lifted my gaze to the mirror.

I wanted him too.

I reached out, brushed my fingers along the sheer fabric, then I left the nightdress behind. The moment I stepped into the bedroom I saw it.

A small tray.

And beside it—fruit sliced into perfect thin pieces.
