But suddenly, instead of looking away, I want to look closer.

As I move, the mirrors twist and distort my reflection, forcing me to see parts of myself I haven’t seen before in ways I haven’t seen before. My boobs look bigger, then smaller, my hips rounder, then slimmer.

A grin parts my lips. I tilt my head and examine my smile, and the way my cheeks are flushed just a little bit pink, and the redness of my hair.

Fuck, I missed that hair.

Silver was cool, but red… this feels like me.

I stand in the middle of the room. Corridors stretch out to either side of me. Hallways that will lead fuck knows where. But I don’t want to move. I just want to look.

Bringing my palms to my sides, I allow them to skim my silhouette.

Goosebumps light on my flesh.

I shiver, but not from the cold.

Little Star…

Kole is still with me, and knowing he’s watching suddenly feels so fucking good that a lightning rod of lust shoots straight to my core.

He’s not alone. I know that. He’s with her and fuck knows how many other vamps. But I don’t care.

Is this what I look like? I ask him, cupping my breasts as I examine them a little closer.

That’s you, Little Star.

Is this how you see me?

Nova… Kole’s tone has changed. This time it’s a warning.

Whatever I drank messed with my head, right? That’s why I’m feeling this way?

It took away your inhibitions.

So it is me?

It’s you.

A loud noise from somewhere down one of the dark mirrored hallways makes me spin around.

Footsteps draw closer. A silhouette appears. Not as tall as Kole, but taller than me.

“Kim?” My voice reverberates through the room, bouncing off the mirrors.

When he steps into the light, my eyes widen. He’s naked too, and holding a glass bottle.

An empty glass bottle.

Not even trying to cover himself, his fingers flex. His eyes drift over my body, drinking in every inch of me with a hunger in his eyes that rivals the way the vamps looks when they’re around FHB.

“Holy shit,” he exhales loudly, combs his fingers through his thick curly hair, then adjusts his glasses on the bridge of his nose. “Pretty sure I should be out of my mind scared right now.” He drags his eyes away from me and examines our surroundings. But then they snap back to mine.

“But you’re not scared?”

He shakes his head. “It’s definitely not fear I’m feeling, no.”

“What are you feeling?” I move a little closer, allowing my hips to sway provocatively.
