I let his feelings wash over me.
His desire, his lust, his arousal.
Still there, despite the fact his orgasm is over.
I picture Nova watching us. I picture telling her this story as I make love to her. I picture her breasts, her nipples, the way her face changes when she’s about to come and she’s trying so hard not to.
I grab Sam’s shoulders and fuck his mouth harder.
Harder.
Harder.
My dick swells in his mouth.
He gags again but doesn’t stop.
He holds my hips and I thrust into him again, and again, and again.
Unsure whether I’m picturing him or Nova or nothing at all, I release into his mouth and watch as he swallows.
He smiles at me, but then the smile wavers.
And as his joy fades, the darkness starts to creep back in.

I’m surprised it’s daylight. Down in the tunnels, time meant nothing. I tried to keep track, but it was impossible. I can tell why Zephyra chose them. They can live their life down there without having to think much about daylight.
Especially with her supply of blood on tap.
Suddenly, as well as helping Mack and stopping the AMA seize the scepter, I know what I need to do before I leave this city. I need to destroy Zephyra’s nest. I need to destroy her labs, and her operation, and everything about her.
I need to ruin that bitch.
She touched my woman. She hurt my woman. And now she needs to die.
Slipping her hand into mine, Nova squeezes it tightly. She is crying, but not sobbing.
She’s sad for Kim, but she didn’t love him. This is not heartbreak, it’s just melancholy. And perhaps guilt because she couldn’t save him.
“Do you think he’s…?” She looks up at me, eyes glistening.
Fuck, she’s beautiful when she cries.
I know that’s twisted.
But there’s something about the way she shows her emotions that drives me wild. Has done since we met. Perhaps because I’m the opposite. A closed book. Impossible to read.
I stop and swipe my thumb over the crest of her cheek, gathering up a teardrop. “Yes.” I kiss her forehead. “But he was ready to be with his wife again. He accepted his fate, Nova.”
She nods.
I search for signs of anger – a clue to tell me she’s pissed at me for dragging her away. But I find none.
“And Zephyra?” she says.
