“How long you were plotting on my daughters, huh?” He pulls a gun out on me.

I raise my hands. “C’mon, Trell, it ain’t even like that.”

“I should have known a high school dropout couldn’t pack out my club like that.” He moves the gun towards the seat. “Sit yo ass down.”

I sit down. This nigga really got his gun pointed at me.

“All these hoes in the A.V.A., and you thought it’d be a great idea to snatch my daughter from her fiancé. You knew she wasn’t single.”

The only things that matter to me are my daughter, my mama, and my second baby mama. I smile thinking about Zari and how much her crazy ass got me tripping. Got me going against my OG.

“What’s so funny?” He pulls the safety off. “You think I’m playing with you.” He pulls the trigger.

I duck and glass shatters behind me. Liquor spills onto the floor.

“Trell, I ain’t playing with you. But, Zari is special.”

“You don’t think I know that shit. She’s my oldest. We tried for over a year to have her. My woman had two miscarriages before her. I don’t play about Zariyanna.”

“Neither do I.”

“Zariyanna is getting married, and we’re done working together.”

“You can’t run this shit without me,” I say, standing up. “They already talking about how the product was low when I was out.”

Tank reaches for his gun, but I pull my gun quicker. I shoot him in the head. He falls back.

Montrell finishes his drink. “Damn, now who the fuck gonna clean this up?” He stands up and looks down at his body shaking his head. “Damn, Hall. You always been the one, but you had to fuck my daughter.”

He walks out of the club.

I stand there looking at the blood pouring out of Tank’s head. Was this Montrell’s plan all along? Have Tank kill me? This nigga should know better that I don’t play around. I really need to regroup about this shit. I’m out of a job, but leaving Zariyanna ain’t a fucking option. I reach into my pocket and light the blunt.

I inhale deeply and let it out. I start at Tank, whose eyes are damn near bulging out of his head.

“Nigga, you were just too slow, snitch ass nigga,” I say, kicking his dead body.

I take another hit of the blunt and walk out the back entrance. I get in my car and head for the interstate.

I gotta make some arrangements to make sure my mama is safe. Cause I don’t play about her at all.

I don’t know how many more bodies are gonna drop, but it damn sure ain’t gonna be mine.

Chapter 15

Zari

I walk into my place and Anthony is sitting in my living room in the dark.

I turn on the light. “What are you doing here?” I ask, taking off my coat. I kick my shoes off.

“Tell me the truth. Are you in love with someone?” Anthony’s voice booms into the open space of my downstairs space.

I swallow hard and stand in place. Had I really been so careless?

“I…”

“Answer me, Zariyanna.”
