I was desperate for more.
Moving up her body, I balanced on my elbow, running a hand through her hair. I stilled when the sound of a whimper broke the silence.
“Hey, are you ok?”
A sniffle, and the unmistakable swipe of tears. “Yeah, I just… shit.”
Her tears made me freeze.
Fuck, what had I done? My mind turned to chaos, mentally replaying everything, trying to find where I went wrong. “Did I hurt you? Was it something I said?” Again, I replayed every word but came up blank.
“I’ve never finished with someone,” she said, her breath unsteady.
Her words slammed into me. I was the only person who had made her come.
“That was so intense,” she whispered.
Knowing I made her feel safe enough to let go rivaled no other feeling I’d ever felt. I placed a kiss on her forehead, then rested our heads together.
Our eyes locked. A tear slid down her cheek.
Swiping it with my thumb, I kissed her again, then some more. Her hand reached between us, rubbing my length through the material of my sweats, and a groan tore from me.
“You want that?” I murmured in her ear. My hand traced her curves like a forgotten memory rousing from somewhere deep within me. I was still getting over the fact I’d made one of my best friends come for the first time in her life.
She took my bottom lip between her teeth, summoning my dick to full attention. “Please, I want all of you.” Her lips covered mine fully, her tongue tasting mine like I was her favorite recipe. One she would never share.
Not breaking our kiss, I rid myself of my jeans. My boxers came next.
“I want you bare,” she whispered. “I’ve never done it without protection.”
Jesus fuck. I swallowed deeply.
“Neither have I.”
Seconds later I slid through her center, teasing her opening.
She took me in her hands, trying to guide me in, and I stilled. Her hips arched. I didn’t move. I wanted to frame this moment, remember her like this, unguarded. Whatever came next for us, I wasn’t sure, but I would remember this moment for eternity. When I sank into her, I gave her all of me, filling her to the hilt.
“Reid,” she gasped, my name like a prayer.
Her walls gripped me, holding us together as I moved. Slow. Steady.
Her eyes captured mine once more, and I realized this was the first time I’d made eye contact during sex. Usually, I only fucked from behind. My lips breathed whispers on hers. Words withheld for so long spilling from me in raw emotion. Because she was everywhere, her hands, her lips. Unhurried kisses, bruised egos torn apart and shredded. It was raw, real.
“That’s, fuck, you feel amazing,” I groaned against her lips.
“More.” The word was barely louder than breath.
I laced my fingers through hers, resting her hand above her head. She squeezed it, not letting go. There was something insanely intimate about our connection; not because it felt good, but because I knew her as a person. It made me want to know her even more intimately. Resting my forehead on hers, I stared deeply into her eyes as I fucked her slowly, rolling my hips as I slid through her arousal.
Her whimpers spurred me on, and she wrapped her legs around my waist, meeting me thrust for thrust. There was an emotional depth to our movements I’d never known was missing from my life. Every breath. Every touch. Every Kiss.
Then we were falling, too far gone to turn back.
That’s when I felt something capturing my heart and tearing it wide open. The room disappeared. Everything narrowed until there was only us. Then, one word exploded through every part of me.
Mate.
