He holds up the ribbons then points at mine.
Red.
“Greedy.”
He spreads his hands.
I laugh. “Sorry. This one’s mine.”
His head tilts then he crooks one finger beckoning me to go to him.
I actually laugh. “No.”
He does it again.
“Absolutely fucking not.”
He taps the black ribbons against his palm then points at me.
“Oh, you think you’re catching me?”
He nods.
“Not happening.”
He lifts one shoulder, shrugging it.
We’ll see.
I cautiously back away one slow step at a time.
He follows at an unhurried pace, taking his time because we both know he could catch me whenever he wants.
He’s fucking with me.
I know it.
And the worst part?
I fucking like it.
My pulse is already picking up.
“Are you giving me a head start?”
He stops and nods.
“How generous.”
He holds up one finger.
