His eyes snap to mine so quickly that I almost laugh.
Actually, I do. “That’s what your announcer said.”
“I know what he said.” His voice comes out tighter this time.
“Then take it up with him.”
“Sage…” He warns again.
“What?” I snap, finally losing some of my patience.
Ezra draws in a slow deep breath, like he’s trying very hard not to lose his shit. When he speaks again his voice is calmer. “Let me remove it.”
“No.”
His jaw flexes. “Why?”
“Because you’re being weird.”
“I’m trying to help you.”
“Help me with what?”
His mouth opens, but nothing comes out. Of course it doesn’t.
I fold my arms over my chest and wait for an explanation that apparently isn’t coming. His gaze drops for half a second, landing directly on my tits before jerking back to my face.
Interesting.
One corner of my mouth lifts. “See?”
A hint of color creeps into his cheeks, but whatever victory I’m about to claim dies when his expression turns serious again. “You need to leave.”
I laugh.
But he doesn’t.
My smile slowly fades. “You’re serious?”
“Yes.”
Something about the way he says it makes the humor drain out of me completely. “Why?”
“Take your friends and go home.”
I study his face, trying to figure out what the hell changed in the last five minutes. “Did I do something?”
“No.” His answer is immediate.
“Then why the hell would I leave?”
“Because I’m asking you to.”
I stare at him for a second before a single disbelieving laugh escapes me. Not because anything about this is funny, but because the audacity is fucking impressive. “I paid almost two hundred dollars to be here.”
“I’ll refund it.”
“That’s not the point.”
