My Forever Sin

He continues stroking my walls and just as I’m about to fly off the edge, he stops. My leg drops to the carpeted floor with a thud and Kain stands.

He grasps my face in his hand, drawing me into him with one rough pull, his eyes searching my face as my chest heaves and my swollen clit pulses. “No. You don’t get to come tonight.”

“Are you fucking serious?” I grind out, my blood already filling with anger again.

“What are you doing?” A voice that isn’t Kain’s shatters all the tension in the hallway. His face doesn’t change as he turns to the sound of the angry voice. I follow with his hand still gripping mine to meet Dorrian’s furious eyes.

“Just like the old times,” Kain mumbles, letting go but making no attempt to put space between us. “Forgive me, brother, I was hungry.” His voice is all amusement and smoke. He glances at me, mouth glistening with my arousal, and swipes a thumb up his chin, gathering it before sucking it into his mouth and winking.

Dorrian’s pockets bulk as he clenches his fists inside his burgundy slacks.

Again, a laugh threatens to burst out of me, and I bite on my fist.

“Are you aware of your sins, Kain?” Dorrian asks, tone bored as always.

That makes Kain step away, taking all the heated air with him, and for the first time in minutes, I feel like I can breathe properly. He’s charging at his brother, fist ready, but Dorrian stops him with Kain’s fist clutched in his hand.

“How many times have I told you I don't want to be involved in your cultist shit?” Kain growls and something shifts in Dorrian, it’s so fleeting it makes me question if I saw it.

“It’s not a cult, Kain. It's the word of God. I need you to start taking it seriously bef—” Dorrian sighs.

Both of their arms are shaking from the strain of pushing against each other.

“Will you fucking give up?” Kain whines, clearly frustrated.

“You’re to be at the church tomorrow. 7 a.m. sharp or I will beat you myself,” Dorrian warns, voice lower than I’ve ever heard it.

“Oh, really?” Kain’s voice lacks any emotion. Dead. “Go on then.” He retracts his fist, opening his arms to the side, offering himself to Dorrian for the taking.

I roll my eyes. I wouldn’t put it past Dorrian to actually hurt Kain, so I interject, slapping my numb hands on Kain’s shoulders. Knowing pain brings him down to earth, I dig my nails into his shoulders as I drag him away from Dorrian.

It takes effort, but he reluctantly follows. I glare at Dorrian as I shove Kain into his room and follow him inside, only then noticing what has happened to his back and my fingers retract.

He was branded too.

Before I can slam the door behind me, Dorrian says, “You too, Jordan. I expect to see you both at the church.”

“I have no choice, Heath is taking me,” I growl and push the door closed, enveloping us in darkness with only the moonlight from outside shining in through the windows.

The quiet is so loud between us.

Moonlight is beautiful. It’s the only peaceful thing I know now, and it’s lighting up the chaos in my life—Kain. He sits hunched over his knees, head hung low, muscles glowing in the moonlight. He looks so innocent and I know that couldn’t be farther from the truth. My chest stings and I can’t look at him anymore.

So, I leave.

Back to my room—alone with my thoughts.

Ashamed is what I am. Ashamed of how I just let my stepbrother eat me out in the middle of the hallway. I let him make me feel good, forgetting about everything that’s happened in the last twenty-four hours. Not to mention being caught by Dorrian again. The evidence damning of what just transpired.

And if I’m honest, tonight is beginning to make me question everything and that scares the shit out of me.

Sleep evaded me last night. I didn’t smell or hear anything after the altercation with Dorrian. He was waiting in the open hallway just outside of our wing and I wouldn’t be surprised if he was monitoring us all night, to make sure we weren’t up to anything.

Little does he know what happened last night won’t be happening again.
