MAYBE HARPER IDK IF YOU 2 ARE MAD AT EACH OTHER OR NOT I CANNOT KEEP TRACK ANYMORE

ALSO ME

Theo’s mouth quirked into a crooked smile, and he started across the street with everyone else.

Theo: You?

Grace: YES ME BECAUSE NOW I HAVE TO BE THE PEACEMAKER AND I’M AN ELDEST CHILD

PEACEMAKER IS MIDDLE CHILD SHIT

Theo: Harper isn’t a middle child either

Grace: Spiritually she’s a middle child

It’s all the cousins

Theo: Fair enough. I’m sorry for making you into the middle child, Grace

Grace: Apology accepted

Theo: How upset is Tommy?

Grace: “Devastated” is a word that has come up quite often

Theo stopped, staring down at his phone. Tommy probably did feel shitty, and Theo was pissed, but he wasn’t that angry at Tommy. He wasn’t up for dealing with Avery, and he suspected she wasn’t up for dealing with him yet either. But Tommy he could manage.

Theo: I’ll talk to him

Grace was still typing a response when a new message popped up on his phone.

Tommy: I AM SO SO SO SO SOOOOOOOOOOOO SORRY

ALSO SORRY FOR READING OVER GRACE’S SHOULDER JUST NOW

I LEGIT DIDN’T MEAN TO

IT JUST HAPPENED

THE AVERY THING I MEAN, I DID SORT OF MEAN TO EAVESDROP ON YOU AND GRACE

Theo sighed. He knew Tommy’s remorse was genuine, although he was still more than a little pissed at him.

Theo: Did you trip and fall into an unauthorized disclosure?

Tommy: I THOUGHT SHE KNEW YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT

Theo: I do, but I can still be mad about it

There was a long, long pause before Tommy finally started typing again.

Tommy: I’m sorry

Really, I am

I didn’t mean to fuck stuff up for you and Avery

You might not have meant to, but you did, Theo thought. He considered typing that, and then he considered typing I forgive you. The first was too mean, and the second was too disingenuous.
