“Stop it. That’s just unfair because—”

He silenced her protest with another kiss. He grabbed her wrists, bringing her arms above her head. He held her there and made her forget she ever wanted to be anywhere else but here with him.

He cast the contraceptive spell, and without further hesitation, he pushed inside her. She gasped and tried to relax against his size. His tongue danced along her earlobe as he pushed deeper into her.

“Who do you think of when you touch yourself?” he whispered.

He was not going to stop with the damn questions, was he? And for once, she just didn’t want to give this cocky Wielder any more reason to gloat.

She pressed her lips together, enduring the stinging sensation on her tongue that increased with each second she didn’t release the truth.

“Look at you, fighting the answer.”

His thrusts deepened, and now she had to keep both the answer and her moan behind sealed lips. If anything, Dawson enjoyed this even more. He loved a challenge, after all.

“Answer me, Winters. Who do you picture when you make yourself come?”

Asking the same question twice doubled the pressure in her jaw until she couldn’t fight it any longer. “You,” she said with the next exhale.

He traced her lower lip with his thumb as if he was chasing that word, trying to catch it. His right hand reached for hers, and when their fingers intertwined, she could feel his power in her blood, flowing through her system. A coldness that burned hot.

He kissed her.

Her skin tingled.

Her blood surged.

It was too much and yet not enough.

Not nearly enough.

When he broke the kiss, he stared at her with depthless eyes.

“Who do you belong to?” he rasped against her lips.

She couldn’t lie. Even if she wanted to. Even if it felt like something she shouldn’t say out loud.

She withheld the answer, pressing her teeth together until her jaw hurt, but as predicted, he didn’t let it go. His thumb ran across her lips, pulling the lower one down, and then he grabbed it gently between his teeth, biting it slightly before his tongue replaced the sting.

“Say it,” he demanded as his movements picked up speed.

“You,” she choked out a moan. “I’m yours.”

Every muscle in his body seemed to tense at once. His eyes burned through her with dark fire.

She leaned into his movements more, arching against him, and then she shattered around him and he followed her over the edge.

He almost collapsed on her but caught himself with his arms. For a moment they stayed like that, both of them still trying to catch their breath.

Slowly, he rolled off her and she sat up and began looking for her clothes.

“Because your coin travel skills are currently disposed of,” he said, standing by the foot of the bed and fastening his belt buckle, “you could just stay the night.”

Her eyes snapped to him. She couldn’t, even if she wanted to. Not after what had happened last time when she stayed at his house in Triphea. He had to wake her from that terrible nightmare, and she had managed to scratch his arms bloody in the process and then turned into a crying mess.

She checked her watch. Luckily, the potion had just worn off because deep down, she wanted to stay.

“I should get back,” she said, nervously buttoning up her blouse. “I have classes tomorrow morning.”
