“You said we’d watch Gilmore Girls.”
“We will.”
“You said that an hour ago.”
Claire sighed dramatically and closed her laptop. “There.”
“There?”
“There.”
He smiled. “I wasn’t actually asking you to stop.”
“I know.”
“Then why did you?”
She shrugged. “Because I’d rather be with you.”
Silence. Noah blinked. Claire blinked. Then she groaned.
“What?”
“I’ve become one of those people.”
“What people?”
“The ones who leave work to spend time with their boyfriend.”
Noah tried very hard not to smile. “You sound devastated.”
“It’s very inconvenient.”
“I can tell.”
She leaned against him. “Worth it, though.”
He smiled and leaned over to give her a quick kiss.
“Can we watch our show now?” he asked.
“Yes,” she said with a laugh.
Noah grabbed the remote before she could change her mind.
They were a few episodes in. Claire was curled up against Noah. Biscuit was asleep.
“You know,” Claire started.
“Hmm?”
“I honestly don’t remember the last time I slept in my own apartment. I’ve spent more nights on your couch than in my own bed lately.”
“You basically live here.”
“I do not.”
He chuckled. “Princess, other than technically having your own apartment and sleeping on my couch instead of in a bedroom, you do.”
