Darian's POV
Three days after the Beta ceremony, I'm sitting in Rylan's office with Arlene beside me and Selena across from us when someone knocks on the door.
“Come in,” Rylan calls.
Justin steps inside. His gaze moves over the four of us before he closes the door behind him.
Rylan sets down the document in his hand. “Justin. How may I help you?”
“I wanted to ask you something, Alpha.”
“Have a seat.”
Justin sits across from him. “My uncle wants to move to Silver Moon with my cousins.”
Selena straightens slightly.
Rylan studies Justin. “Your uncle wants to transfer into Silver Moon?”
“Yes. He wants to be closer to me, Jace, Jocelyn, and Jude. He also wants to help us search for Dad.”
Arlene's hand finds mine beneath the table.
Rylan nods once. “What pack does your uncle currently belong to?”
Justin tells him. Every muscle in my body locks. Arlene's fingers tighten around mine. Selena's gaze snaps toward me, and Rylan goes completely still.
My old pack. Of all the fucking packs. Rylan opens a mindlink between the four of us.
“Darian?”
I hold his gaze across the desk. “It's perfect.”
Arlene turns toward me.
“Perfect?” Selena asks.
“They've been trying to form an alliance with Silver Moon. Now we have a reason to visit without anyone questioning why we're there.”
Understanding crosses Arlene's face.
“The dagger,” she says.
My hand tightens around hers. “Exactly. Candice had a dagger connected to that pack. I want to know how she got it.”
Selena's expression hardens. “And who gave it to her.”
