“Oh my God.”
“What?”
“You called my office manager for Valentine's Day advice?”
“Relax. She only gave me the name of a florist.”
I cover my face. “She's never going to let me live this down.”
“Probably not.” He sounds entirely too pleased with himself.
I settle against him again. “You know, you didn't have to do all this.”
“I know.”
“I would've been happy with pizza and a movie.”
“Good. Because that's dinner.”
I lift my head. “Really?”
“Pepperoni, extra cheese, and those ridiculous garlic knots you like.”
I turn in his arms. “Hayes Bishop.”
“What?”
“I might actually marry you for those garlic knots.”
He grins. “Making a note of that.”
I laugh and splash a little water at him.
He catches my wrist. “Careful.”
“Or what?” His blue eyes narrow playfully. “Don't start something you can't finish.”
“Oh, please.” I splash him again.
This time, water catches him squarely in the face.
He blinks.
Slowly.
I burst out laughing.
“Becks.”
“What?”
“You're asking for it.”
Before I can escape, he wraps both arms around me and pulls me back against his chest. Water sloshes over the edge.
I squeal.
“Bishop!”
