Not with the way possession wound a fist in my chest. Heart rampaging. Blood a slogging of bricks.
“You think so?” It was out before I could stop it. Low and dripping with carnal desire.
“I guess we’ll see, won’t we?” She was all temptation and tease, and I was the fool who took the step to erase the space between us.
Her body bowed in anticipation, shivering beneath me as I towered over her slight frame.
My enormous body eclipsed hers in shadow. The demons trying to stamp out her light.
“Not supposed to be touching you.” The grumble rolled into the tension that pulled through the air.
Hazel eyes flashed. Woman going fierce. “I never said that, and no one else gets to decide that for me. I’m not letting anyone tell me what I can and cannot do anymore.”
There were a thousand reasons I should argue that with her, but I couldn’t find the words. Instead, a greedy hand gripped onto her hip. “Is that what you really want? You want me to touch you again, Lena?”
A tremble rocked her entire being.
A punch of breath left her, her intoxicating scent overwhelming. “It was the only thing I could think about the entire day. In the middle of everything. In the middle of the excitement over the opening and the party, all I could think about was you touching me again.”
“And what was I doing?” I was nothing but a glutton for asking it.
“Your mouth was—” Her gaze averted and dipped just as her stomach heaved.
Diving into the depraved, I angled forward and brushed my nose at the juncture of her shoulder and neck. “Is that what you want? You want to feel my mouth on you?”
“Yes, I’ve never gotten to—”
I had her off her feet and propped on the table in a second flat. Unable to allow her to say what she was going to.
Thinking of her with that prick nearly made me insane.
Deranged with hate and possession.
Half mad with the lengths I would go to protect her.
Crumbling with the need to always ensure this girl was cared for the way she was supposed to be.
A growl ripped free just as shock jolted from her mouth.
I wedged myself between her legs and clamped my hands down on the tops of her thighs.
I nearly came undone with the sight of her squirming on the breakroom table.
Laid back but propped up on her elbows.
Elena’s stunning face was framed by a torrent of ebony curls that flowed out onto the wood beneath her. Breasts straining against the transparent fabric of her bra and the skirt of her dress bunched up high to reveal the matching underwear she had on underneath.
But it was the expression on her face that almost knocked me the fuck out.
Gaze wild. Shocked and needy.
Plump lips parted and her jaw slack in supplication.
“There are five Crows outside this building, Elena.”
It was a warning. A warning of the line I was crossing. Except I wasn’t sure she knew the full extent of what that meant.
“I don’t care.”
