Me: I’m not planning to take it easy
Ricci: Yes, yes, but you will play better and Leah will feel better if there is no pressure, right?
Sosa: He has a point
Fuller: Or Ricci just wants as many people as possible to drag around his hometown
Ricci: * por qué no los dos gif *
Jimenez: I’ll get in touch with Dyer, see if him and all our other midfielders can get together for some extra drills before training starts, that way we won’t spend day one of practice doing groundwork
Me: I’d really appreciate that, thank you
Jimenez: It’s my team too, Cap, we all wanna see us do well
Kean: I’ll come practice with y’all too
Brooker: Like you weren’t gonna do that anyways
Kean: * shrug emoji *
Brooker: Whatever, anything else you wanna us to cover?
Me: Actually, Langston asked for my opinion on some rebranding stuff, but I don’t really have any opinions on it. Y’all might be able to give her some better feedback
Fuller: Oh fuck yeah! Are we finally getting a mascot?
Sosa: No becoming a mascot until you’re old enough to retire
Fuller: No promises
The “Wives” Club
Leah
The Emerald Iguana was becoming the girl group’s default spot and the baby was damn near doing backflips in celebration. Apparently we both liked spices and cheese, which hopefully meant they won’t be picky eaters when they’re finally eating for themselves.
“I’m not being too harsh,” Kodi argued, angrily typing into her phone as I slid into the booth, the last to arrive to our "wives club/support group" meeting that I called. Rosa picked the name after confirming that Nicole was too busy to join us and I … was starting to warm up to the idea of marrying Niall. Plus arguing with Rosa was impossible anyway.
“Harsh about what?”
“Ava fucking Clowes.”
“Who?”
“This reporter for this online news outlet,” Rosa explained before pulling Kodi’s phone out of her hands and handing it to me.
“She’s picking on the Dastards,” Kodi whined. Emily, who was on my side of the table, leaned over my shoulder to look at the phone.
“It seems more like she hates Brooker, no?” she said after a minute of reading. I nodded and handed the phone back to Rosa.
“I wouldn’t even say hate. Just … nitpicky?”
“That’s hate. As a journalist, she should be completely unbiased.”
“Like you are?” Rosa asked, cocking her brow at Kodi.
“I’m not a journalist,” she argued back.
