"I want it all. Marriage, more kids, a house that's ours. I want to watch you become the teacher you've always dreamed of being. I want to build a business and a life that Luna and any other kids we have can be proud of." He cups my face with both hands. "I want everything with you."
My throat is tight. "I want that too. All of it."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah. After the wedding," I say. "Let's start trying after the wedding."
His arm tightens around me. "You sure?"
"I'm sure. I want more kids with you. I want Luna to have siblings. I want—" I laugh. "I want the whole messy, chaotic, beautiful thing."
"It's going to be a lot. You in school, me in school, a baby…"
"We'll figure it out. We always do."
He pulls me close again, and we sit in comfortable silence, watching the lights of Paris twinkle in the distance.
We sit there a while longer, planning a future that once seemed impossible. Talking about weddings, babies and the house Razor wants to buy: something bigger than my mom's place, with a yard for Luna and whatever siblings she might have. About the garage he wants to run and the classroom I'll have someday and the life we're building together, piece by piece.
Eventually we go inside. Luna is sprawled across one of the beds, her stuffed dinosaur, a Triceratops named Trixie, clutched in her arms. Razor pulls the blanket up over her and kisses her forehead.
"Love you," he whispers.
She doesn't wake up, just sighs in her sleep and rolls over.
We climb into our own bed, and Razor pulls me close. His hand slides under my shirt, resting on my stomach, and I know he's thinking about the future we just talked about. About the family we're building.
"I love you," he says into the darkness.
"I love you too."
