Meadow—January 15th 2024
Late afternoon, I hurried home. Today was my anniversary, and I intended to surprise Gerard with his favourite meal. Gerard wouldn’t be expecting anything, as I’d said I was busy with a parents’ event at the school. Instead, the children were staying with friends while I planned a dinner. Twenty years we’d been together, and seventeen of them married. I pulled up in the driveway and frowned slightly. The house was huge, too big for me, but Gerard held a lot of business meetings and dinners, and so it made the required statement.
We’d hired a cleaner because it was too big for me to manage while caring for the children. Our bedroom was at the back, overlooking the gardens that had been carefully planned and were painstakingly maintained.
I frowned when I saw Judy’s car outside. I’d not been expecting Judy.
Shouldn’t she be at work?
My best friend was also Gerard’s secretary. We’d been friends ever since we were ten. Thirty years—a long time. I opened the front door and was surprised by the silence that greeted me.
Well, they weren’t in the study. Gerard being home would ruin the surprise dinner, but that was fine. I dropped the bags in the kitchen and checked the lounge and sitting room. They weren’t there or in the family room.
A sinking feeling gripped my gut as I looked upstairs and shook my head. There was no reason for them to be upstairs, but my feet took me silently upward.
There was no betraying squeak on the stairs to warn them. Gerard refused to suffer anything that showed the house as less than perfect. Which meant they had no warning I was coming. I walked down the hallway to my bedroom and froze. The noises left no doubt about what they were doing.
I woodenly took out my phone and hit record. Then I opened the door and began filming.
Judy happily rode Gerard as he fucked her. His hands were on her breasts, and I flinched.
“Love this,” Gerard cried as he shoved harder. Bile rose in my mouth, and I swallowed hard.
“I love you,” Judy exclaimed as Gerard grunted. Nice.
“Babe, I can’t get enough of you,” Gerard growled as he gripped her ass.
“Divorce Meadow.” Judy did this grinding thing with her hips and closed my eyes. Divorce me? “I can do what Meadow does. Plus, I’m a better lay than her.”
“God, if Meadow ever found out…” Gerard chuckled, and then his face tensed as he came.
“Ah, I like that, baby.” Judy moaned as she ground down and threw her head back. “I love dirty sex. All this time, and I still can’t get enough of you.”
“How long?” I asked, my voice freezing them both. They turned, and Judy screamed as she saw the phone in my hand.
But the answer sprang to her lips in an automatic reply. “Five years.”
I was already uploading the first video to the cloud and to my lawyer, Cartman, as Judy’s words hit me. That was when I’d been pregnant with Poet.
Poet had been a tough pregnancy, and I’d struggled. Gerard had barely supported me; now I knew why. Cheating asshole.
As they scrambled for clothes, I headed downstairs and sent Cartman another folder; this one had all our financial records, which I tracked monthly. Gerard was rich, and we lived comfortably. He wanted a divorce? Fine, but I’d no intention of being screwed over by him. I’d given up my own career to support that asshole. Those two weren’t screwing me out of what was half mine.
Somewhere in my head I was screaming, but right now I acted calmly. I began putting the groceries away and glanced up as Gerard burst into the kitchen.
“Meadow—”
“Save it. Pack your shit and get the fuck out,” I snarled.
“We’re going to talk,” Gerard snapped.
“So cliché, banging the secretary. Mind you, it’s a double one because she’s also my former best friend. Wow! You don’t enjoy doing things by halves.”
“Shut up. This is on you,” Gerard barked.
“Sorry, how did I make you jump into Judy’s pussy? Get out, Gerard, we’re done.”
“This is my house!” Gerard exclaimed.
