“You should have gone for bolder,” Nanci nagged as Daisy-Duke nodded.
“I know how to do my own makeup,” I replied.
“But…”
“Daisy-Duke, no. Now either trust me or keep schtum.”
Daisy-Duke glowered but shut up.
“She’ll get even for that,” Nanci murmured.
“Probably. But it is what it is. Come on, I need clothes.”
I pacified Daisy-Duke by calling her the G.O.A.T of biker chicks. Daisy-Duke beamed, and Nanci shook her head in disgust. I refused to put my saggy jeans and baggy top back on and was shocked when I pulled on a pair of jeans and a tight tee. Holy crap, was that me?
I had a slender waist and flaring hips. My legs looked amazing, and although I had a small pooch, I couldn’t believe the difference. My boobs were perkier with a decent bra, and I was quietly proud of them. With my hair and makeup done, which covered most of the bruises, I was a different person from the worn-down woman I’d been. A grin crossed my lips, and I nodded. I was attractive, and Gerard had thrown me away for a cheap whore.
I exited the dressing room, and Nanci’s eyes grew wide. “Oh.”
“Damn, that man’s gonna spontaneously cum,” Daisy-Duke muttered.
“Who?” I asked, confused.
“Don’t worry, babe. You need boots with that.”
“Yup, but I haven’t finished shopping,” I said. I tore through the clothing aisles like a whirlwind. Once paid, a prospect ran the bags back to a car, and we waited in the safety of the shop for him to return. Once he had, I hit a few more clothing stores before the shoe store. The sales assistant had to help carry my purchases, which tickled me.
“Are we okay for time?” I asked, eyeing a bag and accessory store.
“Yup,” Daisy chortled as she hauled me over.
Ten more full bags later, Nanci called it quits. “Meadow, I thought I was a shopaholic; you put me to shame.”
“Let’s head back,” I agreed.
“Meadow?” a surprised voice exclaimed, and I turned. In front of me were some of my former acquaintances.
“Oh, hi,” I greeted as Nanci and Daisy-Duke took my side.
“You look… fabulous,” Mylie exclaimed.
“Thanks. You look as… put together as always,” I replied.
“I wouldn’t have recognised you,” June spoke up, eyes narrowed. Her husband was one of Gerard’s customers.
“That’s good to hear. Dropping all that dead weight takes a load off a girl, you know?” I said with a grin. Nanci laughed, and Daisy-Duke released a throaty chuckle.
“New friends?” Mylie asked. Her glance took in my bags and widened slightly at the brand names. Yeah, they’d not heard about the divorce settlement. I bet Gerard was keeping that very quiet.
“Yup, ones who don’t cut me out because my husband dumped me for the whore of a former best friend,” I said sweetly, and June gaped. “Mind you, now everything Gerard owns is mine, Judy is looking for a new payload. Watch your husbands, ladies. If Judy could fuck my hubby, she wouldn’t bat an eyelid at setting her cap at yours.”
They exchanged glances.
“I doubt that will happen,” Mylie murmured, and I grinned.
“Mylie, take a look and compare yourself to Judy. That bitch knows how to deepthroat a man and suck him dry. When’s the last time you did? Trust me, she’s already making moves on one of your husbands. Good luck,” I cooed and turned and walked away.
“Wow, the claws came out there,” Daisy-Duke approved.
