Alaska Lights

It’s only an inch, but it’s an inch closer than I was before. It’s better than nothing.

He pauses in the doorway, turning back to look at me, confusion etched across his beautiful face. He doesn’t understand why he feels the pull to me, and I’m sure he isn’t happy about it.

“Did you know that log cabins are better for your health? Modern houses are prone to—” He stops himself from saying anything else.

Once again, my quiet is being filled by him.

“Have a good night, Alaska,” he says, my heart fucking breaking knowing we are done with whatever we have been doing since I brought him here.

“Goodnight, Helios,” I reply, leaning my hip against the counter, crossing my arms.

His raven-colored curls fall across his forehead, those beautiful deep forest green eyes falling to my chest.

“My friends call me Leo,” he says in a near whisper.

“Are we friends?” I dare to ask.

“I think so. I can’t say no to the man who saved my life.”

“Okay, then. Goodnight. Helios.”

“Leo,” he corrects. “Friends, remember?”

I don’t want to be his friend.

“Helios. I love that name.” I didn’t mean to say the second part of that sentence, but my tongue seems to slip what my mind wants to keep secret.

He grins, showcasing two dimples and straight white teeth, but it’s the small gap between the front two that has me fall in love in that exact second.

Fuck.

I love him.

I’m on the deck watching the rain.

It’s so beautiful out here. I can see why Alaska likes it so much. I would never leave either if this were my home.

It is.

I shake my head at the voice in the back of my head, having no idea where it came from. Clutching the railing, I bend my head down and run my fingers through my wet hair.

All I can think about is Alaska in that damn towel. He’s huge. In every aspect. Not only does his body take up a massive amount of space, but from what I saw of that towel and what it was hiding, yeah, he’s fucking huge.

What throws me for a loop the most is that I wanted to see more of his body. I wanted the towel to suddenly drop so I could see the entirety of Alaska. His shoulders are so wide and broad, built with muscle. The man is stacked in every aspect of the word.

Then, the V, the Adonis belt on either side of his hips seemed carved out of stone, leading straight down to his cock the towel kept covered. His chest is covered in dark hair, tapering down his stomach, and again, disappearing under that fucking towel.

I want to burn every towel in that cabin; then I’d finally be able to see the body that I am suddenly craving.

“What the hell is going on?” I groan in frustration, tugging on the ends of my hair.

Never in my life have I thought about a man like this. I’ve never looked at a man twice. I’ve never had to do a double take, but Alaska? He makes my heart beat so fast, I wonder if it’s about to beat out of my chest. I’m drawn to him. I can’t stop looking at him.

I find him to be the most handsome guy I’ve ever seen, and I have no idea what to do with that information.

And he isn’t just handsome. Plenty of guys are handsome in their own way, I guess, but Alaska? He’s beyond the standard men set when it comes to looks. He looks like what a God would look like to me. He’s so touch-worthy; the thought of touching him makes me nervous, like I’m not worthy enough.

“You sound insane. Listen to yourself. Snap out of it, Leo.”
