“What rumors?” he asked in a low tone, his jaw tense.

“They say…” I whispered like him. His eyes dropped to my lips. I slowly ran my tongue over them, letting a wide smile curve my mouth. Watching his gaze narrow with my every move gave me pure satisfaction.

“They say you deliberately refused to give our agency an interview. That you had a personal reason.”

“Nonsense.”

“But even now, you refuse to give me an answer, sir! It’s natural for people to think that. What’s this personal reason? Maybe it’s related to your love life?”

“Ms. Olind! Personal questions are very inappropriate!”

I pressed my lips together. “Sorry, I went too far.”

I wasn’t even a little bit sorry. Every second that I couldn’t get what I wanted, my fury deepened more.

“It’s okay. These aren’t considered personal questions.”

I hadn’t expected that. Snapping my head up, I peered at him.

“Your love life isn’t a personal question?”

His lips curled to the side for a moment, so quickly I thought I was imagining it.

“Like I said, I’m quite busy. I don’t have time for it.”

“That’s one of the questions people are curious about!” When the man murmured, I shot him an annoyed look. You were scolding me just now, but now it suits you, doesn’t it?

“Since you’re taking personal questions, may I ask your ideal type, Mr. Loxton?” The man continued, and I wheeled on Raymond, my eyes blazing.

Let’s see what you’ll say to this.

He remained silent, his legs crossed in a relaxed posture. I fidgeted, adjusting my position, facing him fully. In response, he offered a slight tilt of his chin.

“I’m curious too, actually. What is your ideal type, Mr. Loxton?”

“Why do you ask?”

“You may not have a love life, but everyone has an ideal type in minds.”

“Well, I do not.”

I opened my mouth again, but the man acted first. “I heard you’re into the sweet, well-behaved type, sir. Is that true?”

Hearing this, I struggled to control my expression, I choked on laughter. “For God’s sake, who’s spreading these rumors?”

“Well, Loxtons are practically celebrities. People love to make assumptions.”

I looked back at Raymond with a frown, but he was already watching me. After a heartbeat, he sighed.

“First I’ve heard of it.” he murmured. “But it sounds boring.”

The columnist man seemed confused. “Boring…?”

“If there’s nothing else you’re curious about, I shall take my leave. Good evening.”

“Wait…” Hesitantly, I reached out and caught the edge of his long coat before he could get up.

Raymond stared at me, then at my hand, his eyes wide with surprise. I immediately let go and cleared my throat.
