Brock?

“Brock is here?” I asked in a disbelieving voice.

She simply nodded.

God, I was still confused.

I’d obviously been drugged with something powerful, which was probably better than being smashed over the head until I lost consciousness.

I had to be in Ecuador.

How was it possible that Brock was coming for me with the permission of the cartel?

That made absolutely no sense.

I shivered. I was scared, but I had no idea exactly what I needed to fear at the moment.

Was I really safe from Rico?

I had no freaking idea what to believe.

“Jenna!” Brock bellowed from another room.

My heart stuttered as I called back, “Brock!”

Turning to the girl, I said excitedly, “He really is here for me!”

She nodded at me and smiled.

“Where in the fuck is she?” Brock rumbled as he got closer to the bedroom.

“Here!” I called out, anxious to see Brock’s handsome face.

I was still a little groggy, but I’d figure out how this miracle had happened…after I’d seen the man I loved.

I was in his arms a fraction of a second after he’d stomped into the room.

The girl that had been talking to me scampered out the door as Brock entered.

“Thank fuck!” he swore as he held me tightly against his broad chest. “Are you hurt?”

“No,” I whispered as I looked into his tormented gaze.

The worry in his expression made my heart ache.

He kissed me, a hard, reassuring embrace that made me wrap my arm around his torso and squeeze him as tightly as possible.

“I don’t really understand what happened,” I said as he released my lips. “I was kidnapped by Rico, but I don’t remember much after that.”

“You were drugged,” Brock said in a pissed-off tone.

“I don’t know what’s happening,” I said, still befuddled and wondering how Brock could be here to recover me. “Are the rest of the guys here?”

“It’s complicated,” he replied as he held me tightly against his body. “I’ll explain everything on our way home. You’re in Ecuador, and you were kidnapped, but you’re being released.”

“Why?” I said shakily.

“It was negotiated,” a deep baritone voice said from behind Brock.
