Was it always going to irritate the hell out of me when she gave another man one of those beautiful smiles?

Nah. I’ll probably get used to it. Eventually.

“I understand that,” she told them. “But since you know everything about me, I think it’s only fair that you all share things about yourself in the future, too. I really want to get to know you all better.”

I lifted a brow and shot her an amused look. “A hundred questions?”

She smiled at me and shook her head. “You’re my guy. You have to tell me things. I’ll let them share what they want to share.”

Hell, I loved the sound of her admitting that I was her guy.

The hundred questions hadn’t been painful for me at all. In fact, she’d already used ninety-nine of them, and she hadn’t asked anything I didn’t want to answer.

I’d reminded her that she hadn’t used her last question, and she’d simply told me she was saving it for a time when she might have a particularly important question to ask in the future.

Hell, like there was anything I wouldn’t tell her.

She was so damn cute that her brightness lit up parts of my soul that I’d thought would never see the light of day again.

“I can never claim to have the childhood you did,” Nate said solemnly. “But mine wasn’t happy, either.”

“Why? Do you mind talking about it?” she asked in a concerned voice as she put a gentle hand on his forearm.

I watched, stunned, as my team started to reveal their childhoods one by one.

None of them spoke in-depth about their growing up years, but they revealed things that they wouldn’t tell anyone except people they considered family.

There was tragedy in all our past histories, which was probably why we’d all bonded as found family.

I didn’t doubt their motives for a single second.

Jenna was new family to them, and they wanted her to feel more at ease with the fact that they knew every sensitive fact of her life by revealing some of theirs.

I had to grind my teeth when Jenna hugged every damn member of my team after they’d shared their childhoods with her.

Yeah, I wanted these men to consider Jenna family, but I could do without the hugging part.

It didn’t help that not a single one of the guys appeared to find that hug awkward.

They drew that affectionate gesture out longer than necessary by hugging her back enthusiastically.

Bastards!

I was fairly certain that they knew seeing Jenna touch anyone but me irritated the hell out of me.

“What’s on for tomorrow?” Gage asked. “The cider festival is happening in Cherry Cove tomorrow. Are you two coming?”

One look at the intrigued expression on Jenna’s face, and I knew we were going to end up at the festival.

“What is a cider festival?” she questioned.

“It’s peak apple harvest right now,” I explained. “They’ll have homemade cider tastings and donuts, fresh picked apples, and booths where people sell other things. It’s a small celebration more for locals than tourists.”

“It sounds like fun,” she answered excitedly. “I can get some apples to make pies.”

Nate’s face lit up. “I’d really like—”

“Don’t even think about it,” I growled. “Jenna has to leave in a week, and I don’t want her spending that time baking.”
