Thomas leans closer to the monitor.

“That isn’t the sea entrance.”

“What is it?” I ask.

“The original Sinclair lighthouse.”

“I thought it collapsed.”

“The tower did. The keeper’s rooms are still beneath it.”

Keating enlarges the map.

A narrow tunnel connects the lighthouse ruins to Blackwater’s interior.

“Could Dad have hidden the film there?” I ask.

Thomas studies the surviving piece.

“I don’t know.”

“Simon thinks he did,” Ben says. “Why else mark it?”

Marquez’s technical team works beside us, searching every property record connected to the waterfront operation. One of the agents raises her hand.

“We intercepted a data transmission from the Argent Star.”

“What kind?” Keating asks.

“Can you identify them?”

“Not yet.”

“Intercept it.”

“We captured the transmission, but we haven’t broken the encryption.”

Simon sent something before demanding my compass.

A warning?

Instructions?

Or proof he intends to release if he is captured?

Marquez turns toward Marcus’s feed.

He sits inside an armored federal vehicle with his wrists secured in front of him.

“What does Simon keep aboard the Argent Star?”

“Weapons. Communications equipment. Records.”

“Explosives?”

“Yes.”
