Ben straightens beside me. “It disappeared.”
“Yes.”
“Could the lens still be inside the lighthouse?” I ask.
“Possibly, but no one is going to Blackwater tonight to find out.”
“We don’t have to,” Ivy says through Ward’s phone.
All of us stare at it.
Ward looks down. The call with my sisters ended several minutes ago.
Then his phone rings again.
Ivy’s name appears on the screen.
He answers and puts it on speaker.
“Ivy?”
“I remembered something,” she says breathlessly. “Grandpa gave each of us a birthday card the last year he was alive. Mine had a drawing inside it.”
“What kind of drawing?” I ask.
“A lighthouse. I thought it was because I loved climbing to the top of the old one near the harbor when we were kids.”
“Do you still have the card?” Keating asks.
“It’s in a box aboard Sea Whisper.”
Storm takes a step toward the door.
Ward catches her hand. “You’re not going alone.”
“I’m not waiting while someone searches my yacht.”
Keating holds up one hand. “No one is waiting. I’ll send a boarding team.”
Ivy continues, “There were numbers beneath the drawing. I thought they were coordinates, but they didn’t lead anywhere.”
“Do you remember them?” Ben asks.
“No, but I remember what Grandpa wrote under them.”
My fingers close around Ben’s.
“What did he write?” I ask.
Ivy’s voice drops.
“Five daughters. Five pieces. One truth.”
My gaze moves across my sisters’ names on the surveillance list.
“He gave all of us something,” I whisper.
Storm looks at me. “And someone knows it.”
