Cain

Until I was breathless and limbless, collapsed against Cain’s chest with his arms wrapped around me.

And it was right there in that soft aftermath that my phone chimed.

Once.

Twice.

Three.

Four times.

“Seems important,” Cain said as I pulled away from him.

I climbed off of him and walked on unsteady legs to my bag, grabbing my phone, and toggling over to the messages.

Jill: Strange car parked next to yours.

Janet: Check in.

Jill: Are you okay in there?

Janet: Give us a text or we are coming up.

Cain must have read the look on my face because he moved to stand. “Everything alright?”

“My neighbors are a little… overprotective. They’re worried about the strange car parked next to mine.”

“Can’t say I hate that. You wanna go reassure them?” he asked, reaching for my bag and handing it to me.

With that, he followed me to the door.

When we stepped out on the balcony, I saw Janet and Jill already standing outside their room, watching my door.

I turned to lock my door then walked down the balcony, waving at them.

Janet looked confused.

Jill, on the other hand, shot me a knowing smile and a nod.

I knew exactly what she was thinking. That I was bouncing up and down on the hot biker.

The crazy thing?

She wasn’t exactly wrong.

CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Georgie

I should have known it would be a trap.

My attorney told me that he was having a meeting with Perry’s lawyer and that he would like to see me afterward to discuss.

I should have known that Perry would find a way to ambush me.

“Georgia.”

No one in the world called me by my full name aside from Perry.
