“You mind if he watches me fuck you?” he asks, voice low and wrecked.
A huff escapes me as I draw my eyes to his, keeping them there. I’m about to reach for his belt before he lifts me off the hay bales, placing me back down before clearing my hair of straw.
“Before we get down and dirty,” he begins, still plucking straw from my clothes, “I got a surprise for you.”
And without waiting for a response, Dante slides his hand into mine and pulls us deeper into the maze until we reach a clearing at the far end.
“Is this a date?” I ask, lifting a brow, peering at a scene with a checkered blanket spread out in the middle, adorned with candles, complete with black rose petals scattered all over… and is that a fucking charcuterie board?
“Of course, baby,” Dante states with a wink, leading me to the romantic mess, and I’m stunned at how confused I am. I mean, I hate this sort of thing. It’s such a waste of time and usually calls for small talk. Yet… for some reason, I have a lump in my throat, my heart’s beating out of my chest, and a lightness falls over me so drastically, it feels like I’m floating.
Dante plops down onto the blanket, and I’m left staring down at this man who looks like a fucking Greek sculpture. God, he really is handsome.
“Don’t be so stiff and sit down,” he says, and he taps the open space next to him.
I place myself between petals and candles, awkwardly claiming the space. “What is this all for?” I ask.
“One of many dates I’m taking you on since you now belong to me, kitten,” he states before grabbing a strawberry and shoving it oh-so-gently into my mouth. He pulls back, licking his fingers and lips. “I was actually planning to suck you off here,” he adds. “Would’ve been more romantic, but oh well.”
“This wasn’t necessary,” I claim, yet grab a handful of grapes, popping them one by one into my mouth. Dante grins at that, easing back and resting on his arms, eyes now trailing towards the sky.
“It’s a necessity; you better get used to it,” he claims, and honestly, I think I could.
“I’m going dark for the weekend,” he announces abruptly, eyes still pinned to the stars above us.
I furrow my brows slightly, swallowing the last piece of grape. “What?”
“Tragic, I know.” His mouth twitches. “Are you going to behave while I’m gone?”
The contentment gets sucked from my soul as the idea of him disappearing again fully forms in my head, and I only huff in response.
“I’m serious, Adrian,” he continues as he now sits up, looking me dead in the eyes. “Don’t go off doing some dumb shit while I’m gone. After Halloween, I won’t leave your side again.”
“That’s what you say now—”
“I promise you,” he interjects, then slides a hand into his pocket and pulls out a silver bracelet with some sort of engraving on it. Dante takes my hand and, without a word, secures it around my wrist. I flip over the silver tag to see our initials engraved on it.
Fuck, why is my heart beating so fast again? Is this another panic attack… I haven’t had that in weeks.
“Let this be a reminder that you belong to me.”
“I’m not going to fuck around with other people, if that’s what you’re worried about,” I state, furrowing my brows at him as my thumb brushes over the silver chain.
“Hm, no, I have no doubt that you will, BUT I don’t trust other people, in fact…” Dante claims, now pulling a hand through my hair, “I think I should lock you up in my apartment. That way no one can even dare to look at you.”
I lean into his touch, gaze never leaving his as I allow a subtle smile to spread across my face. All while still caressing the silver chain around my wrist.
“When I get back,” he says slowly, “I want you to move in with me.”
I blink at that, brain stalling for mere seconds before I nod in response.
The corners of his mouth twitch upward with disbelief. “That easy?”
“Yeah, that easy.”
