Gamble, Nickel and I hurried out to our bikes. Ricochet followed in a Ford Explorer. I struggled to ignore the sinking sensation in my gut. He had a head start on us, if the asshole took her somewhere, how would we find her then?

The way we weaved around cars along the Interstate, it was a miracle a cop didn’t pull us over. We made it to the exit for the bar, and caught the lights just right.

I led the way into the bar parking lot. Lark was crouched next to a woman on the sidewalk. I did a double take as I brought my bike to a stop. He held a bottle of water out to Sarah.

I powered off my Harley and swung off. “Sarah? What the hell are you doing here?”

“Do you know her?” Lark asked.

EMTs came out of the back door to the bar. Adam trudged along behind them.

I focused on Lark. “Yeah. She and I used to live together.” I caught Sarah’s gaze. “Did you see anything? Which direction he might have taken her?”

She shook her head. “I fell as soon as he tased me. They drove off. I didn’t see which direction.”

“They had to go to the right. There’s nothing in the other direction,” Lark said.

It would seem that way, but to the left there was a park, neighborhoods, churches, and a bike path that ran for a good fifteen miles. Any number of places he could have gone.

“Shit, I forgot,” Ricochet hissed.

I turned to him. “Forgot what?”

He glanced from me to Nickel, then Gamble, and back to me.

“Spit it out, son,” Gamble said.

“A few weeks ago, when Mick wouldn’t tell me who she was dating, I put a tracker on her car. I don’t see her car here. If they didn’t ditch it—”

“Pull it up on your phone,” Nickel said.

“What the hell happened to your face?” Brandy asked coming out of the bar.

“Brandy? Why are you here?”

She came closer. “I was gonna have lunch and get to know Mickayla without you hovering or my kids interrupting. Some crazy asshole was waiting for us, I just told the police officer as much back inside.”

“What did he do to you?” I asked.

She waved a hand and pulled out her phone. “I gotta call Seth. Marjorie has to be picked up and the cop told me not to leave yet.”

Shit. I didn’t need cops slowing us down.

I turned to Ricochet. “You got a location?”

He nodded.

“You drive. Give me your phone and I’ll direct you. Bikes are too noisy for this.”

“We’re coming with you,” Gamble said.

Lark shot us a meaningful look. “I’ll cover for you with the cops.”

We piled into the Explorer and left before an officer could stop us.

“Where did he take her?” Nickel asked.

“Some place north of Old Plank Road,” Ricochet said.
