Zeke wasn’t asleep anymore.

He hadn’t noticed my attention on him; his heavy-lidded eyes were locked on where my fingers dug into Raelynn’s naked hip. My heart pounded, not because he was watching us, but because his hand slid over the front of his slacks, drawing attention to his obvious hard-on.

I groaned when Raelynn rocked against me, seeking relief since I’d stopped moving.

I wasn’t sure if I needed to stop. He didn’t know I’d noticed him, and she was unaware he was watching her. It’d be cruel to Zeke when he didn’t have experience with this. I didn’t want to embarrass either of them, but I didn’t want them to be upset if they realized too late what had happened.

“Cyn, please.” Raelynn wiggled on my lap and scratched her nails through my hair and down my back. “Why’d you stop?”

Zeke’s bright blue eyes met mine, and they widened.

Shit.

His entire body tensed as we stared at one another.

I already knew what he was thinking. Knew that he probably wanted the ground to open up and swallow him whole.

“Cyn?” Raelynn pulled away to look at my face, but I couldn’t stop staring at Zeke. Her gaze followed mine, and she tensed.

He still hadn’t removed his hand, and I worried he wasn’t okay.

Other than when they caught me in the shower, Zeke had never caught me in a sexual moment. As far as I knew, he’d never had a sexual encounter with another person. Being caught touching himself while watching me with the woman he’d fallen for probably had his mind in chaos.

I put my hands on Raelynn’s hips to move her off of me, but she tightened her thighs to stay where she was.

“Move,” I whispered.

“Wait a minute,” she said, still watching Zeke. Her expression softened. “Are you okay?”

His throat bobbed.

“You don’t have to stay over there.”

What the fuck was she doing?

Didn’t have to stay over there? Did she want him instead now that he was awake?

His eyes immediately sought mine.

Was he asking for permission? He trusted me; I knew that much. Did he need me to encourage him to go to her?

When I finally found my voice, I tried to speak gently to avoid making him panic. “Do you want to come to her?”

Raelynn put her hand on my chest. “No. Do you wanna come to us?”

I recoiled, confused. “What? Us? He—” I looked at him as he continued to stare at me like I had the answers when he was the one being asked the questions.

I didn’t know if I was ready.

I wasn’t.

I couldn’t blame losing him on this cursed forest if he turned away from me now. I wasn’t sure I’d make it back to Elyrdin if he did.

Raelynn stroked her fingers through the hair at the back of my head as if attempting to soothe me. Did she know I was spiraling? “He needs you right now,” she whispered. “It’s okay.”

What the fuck was happening right now?

I closed my eyes and sighed, trying to relax my tense muscles.
