My hand claps over her mouth. I look at her, putting my finger to my mouth, hushing her. She looks up at me, nodding. We both stand and then I hear footsteps.
“We aren’t alone,” I whisper in her ear.
The movements get closer and we move behind a tree. I hold her close to my chest as I hear the rustling getting closer… until a dog jumps out at us.
“Aww, hi, puppy!” Calli says, kneeling down to pet the large dog. “Where’s your owner?” she asks, looking at its collar.
I roll my eyes, adjusting my dick in my pants when we hear someone call out from not too far away.
“Cody! Here, girl!”
Calli grabs her collar and yells back, “She’s over here!”
A small girl pops out from the trees, her big blue eyes lighting up when she sees the dog.
“Oh my gosh, thank you!” When she runs over, the dog’s tail curls up and begins to wag.
“Beautiful dog, is she a husky?” Calli asks, petting Cody as the girl slips on the dog’s harness.
“Malamute. She rolled over and slipped out of her harness; thank you so much—” She glances over to me, looking me up and down. “Both of you.”
Calli locks eyes with me, smiling as the girl stares at me wide-eyed.
“Have a good day!” the girl says, waving and quickly walking away back toward the trail.
“I think she has a crush on you already.” Calli elbows me.
I quirk a brow and side-eye her. “I don’t like being interrupted.”
“Yeah, yeah. You’ll be okay.” She pats my shoulder.
“I don’t think I will. I believe the ghost was expecting a show, so I’m not the only one being cockblocked here.”
She looks at me like she wants to hit me.
I shrug. “It’s true!”
“You’ll both be fine. Let’s go.”
“Welp, I tried, sorry. I’ll be sure to prepare a cuck chair for you next time,” I say to the air.
“Kai!” Calli yells, slapping my arm. “Wait. You watch us?” she asks the air, her cheeks turning red.
“Oh, you’re way behind, sweetheart.” I laugh. “Did you just realize that?”
“I genuinely didn’t think about it.”
“You don’t mind?” I ask, curious.
“Not really.” She considers. “I don’t have anything to hide, and knowing I’m being watched over is a bit of a comfort.”
“Well, that’s good, it would suck to switch to closed-door this late in the game.”
“Who taught you that phrase?” she asks, giggling.
“I’m learning a lot reading those books of yours,” I say, winking at her.
She pretends to wipe away a tear. “I’m so proud.”
