Tempted To Be Mine

“I can’t sleep,” she said. “The bed’s too cold.”

“Mine too.”

She hesitated for just a moment. Then she crossed the room and climbed in beside me, fitting herself against my side in her usual place.

“This is better,” she murmured, her breath warm against my neck.

“Much better.”

I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her closer. Somewhere in the distance, I could hear the faint sound of bells. Cow bells, maybe. Or church bells. Something distinctly Swiss and magical.

“Shooting starts tomorrow,” Lucy said sleepily. “You should get some rest.”

“I will. Just give me a minute.”

“A minute for what?”

“To appreciate this.” I pressed a kiss to the top of her head. “You. Here. All of it.”

She tilted her face up and kissed me. “Goodnight, Jeremy.”

“Goodnight, Lucy.”

I felt like the luckiest man alive.

LUCY

Iwoke up slowly. Warm. Safe. Jeremy’s arm was draped over my waist with his chest pressed against my back. His hot breath was soft and even against my hair. For a long moment, I just lay there, letting myself exist in this perfect bubble of contentment. God, it felt good to be snuggled against him. It felt perfect. My ass fit perfectly against his lower stomach.

I could stay right where I was forever. But I had to pee and we had to get to the photoshoot. I tried to move, but my body protested. Every muscle ached. My eyelids felt like they’d been glued shut. The exhaustion wasn’t just tiredness. It was bone deep. Between the endless hours of travel, the time zone chaos, and the enthusiastic middle-of-the-night activities that had woken me from a dead sleep, it was no wonder I felt like I’d been hit by a truck.

A very sexy, green-eyed truck.

I smiled despite feeling like shit. Getting woken up in the middle of the night by the hunk spooning me was just fine by me. He made me forget what country we were in. Worth it. Completely worth it.

But now I was paying the price.

Jeremy stirred behind me, his arm tightening around my waist. “Morning,” he murmured against my neck.

“Morning.”

“How’d you sleep?”

“When I was actually sleeping? Great.”

He chuckled, the sound vibrating through me. “No regrets, I hope.”

“Never.”

He kissed my shoulder and then rolled out of bed with far more energy than any human should have after the night we’d had. I watched him stretch, his muscles flexing and proving he deserved to be the top model in the world. The man was ridiculous. Ridiculously beautiful.

“Stay there,” he said, pulling on a pair of sweatpants. “I’m making breakfast.”

“You don’t have to make breakfast.”

“I want to. Don’t move.”
