“I’m talking about the…thing, the one we all pooled money for?” Joss says, looking at me with cool green eyes. “You got a hit, didn’t you?”

“Not just a hit. All of my wishes have been claimed.”

“All three already?” Ivy asks.

“All three,” I say, flushing slightly.

Joss gives me a slow, sly grin.

“Don’t,” I warn her.

“Don’t what?” she asks, grinning even wider. “Don’t ask you what you wished for? Come on, Margo. Give us a hint.”

“Be nice, Joss,” Ivy scolds.

“It’s not in my nature.”

I pull out my phone and frown at it, thinking.

“Come to think of it, they didn’t give me any further information. No names. No dates.”

I look at the text message and click the link that’s embedded in the words Season’s Greedings.

It pulls up the website, the one I’ve already perused. I hover over the Orders button. A line of text comes up.

Fulfillment in Progress.

Then, another line of text.

NO REFUNDS.

“Great,” I mutter. “We probably got scammed out of five hundred bucks.”

“You don’t know that,” Joss points out. “It’s only been three days. Give them a little time to set it up. I’m sure you’ll get a text with more information soon.”

Ivy nods. “Don’t write it off just yet, Margo.”

Joss’s wicked grin returns. “Yeah, especially since I’ve got some choice wishes in mind for when it’s my turn.”

Ivy snorts. “I’m sure you do. What is it this time, the lotus position?”

Joss looks contemplative. “You know what…”

Ivy and I both burst out laughing. After a moment, Joss starts to chuckle, too.

“Give me a drink,” I say to Joss as she finishes cutting lime wheels. “One of your specials.”

“A special that will still allow you to drive after, or one of my specials?”

“The first one.”

“Me too,” Ivy says.

“Special tonight is a dragonfruit martini,” Joss says, and I watch as she shakes it up. Not fancy. Just efficient.

She pours two drinks into martini glasses, the ratio just right.

Joss dresses the glasses with lime wheels and slides them across the bar.
