Just when he thought he was firmly in control, she reached down and wrapped her fingers around him, squeezing him, making him lose all sense of time and place. She stared at him, and desire took control of him as she methodically worked him.

He let out a groan, unable to help himself, the pressure building inside him too much, the want for her taking over, crippling his willpower and blinding him, bleaching out coherent thought. He just wanted to take her, to possess her in the most primal of ways, to make her his. She wouldn’t be able to deny any longer that he cared for her and she for him.

Kai observed, distantly, that he ought to get a condom. He ought to stop what he was doing and be responsible, but right then he didn’t want to be responsible. He wanted to have Jun, in every way possible. He wanted to make her see they belonged together. He wanted her to realize just how much he needed her, wanted her, to be his. He understood suddenly that part of him wanted her to have his baby, that all he wanted was to claim what he thought was his.

He pushed inside her, unable to keep himself away any longer, and delving into her warm wetness, he nearly lost his mind. The sensation of pleasure made him cry out as she wrapped her legs around him, pulling him in deeper, her arms holding on to his neck, her breath coming in short gasps. She came almost instantly, her gasps loud and long as he felt her squeeze the life out of him, work him deep inside her body with the rhythm of her pleasure. He felt her nails on his back as she gripped him, the orgasm shaking her very core and his. He wanted to hold off his own climax, to make her come once more, but he couldn’t rein it in. It had gone past his control, and there was no turning back. He came in a rush of heat and a low shout, pleasure buzzing through his brain as he collapsed, satiated, on top of her, their sweat-slicked bodies sliding together on his immense bed.

“Oh, God. What did we do?” Jun rolled off Kai and grabbed a sheet, which she pulled up to her neck. Outside, the sun had just dipped below the horizon, and it bathed the room in a dusky, warm glow, but the atmosphere was evidently lost on Jun. There was no mistaking the fear in her voice. “I was so careful for years, and now...this.”

Kai propped himself up on one elbow and studied her.

“I don’t care. Whatever happens, I’ll...support you. I wouldn’t have...done that if I hadn’t been willing to accept the consequences.” As the words left his mouth, he realized he meant them. It wasn’t just something he was saying to be polite or to ward off his own inner panic. Incredibly, he had no panic inside over the thought of an unplanned pregnancy.

Did part of him even want a pregnancy? The idea exploded in his mind. Could he imagine himself as a father? Actually, after spending time with Po over the past few months, he knew he could.

“I can’t have a baby. I’ve got Po, and...”

“You’re not pregnant yet,” Kai reminded her.

Jun covered her face with her hands. “I’m doomed. It only takes one time with me. One time. My body is superfertile. I’m surprised I don’t get pregnant just walking by underwear billboards.”

Kai barked a laugh. “That sounds like the worst superhero ever invented.” He grinned. “Superfertile Woman.”

Jun laughed. “I’m serious!” she exclaimed. “I am!” She buried her face in her hands again.

Kai’s lips quirked up in a playful smile. “Do you fight evil with maternity wear and wet wipes?”

“Yes, and morning sickness and swollen ankles. You won’t think it’s so funny in nine months.”

“I love you, Jun Lee.”

That shut her up but quick.

“You...what?” Jun pulled the sheets down and blinked at him.

For once, Kai didn’t feel like backpedaling or making excuses. For once in his life, he was telling a woman the truth about how he felt.

“I love you.”

“You do?” Jun looked baffled.

“Now’s the time you’re supposed to say ‘I love you, too.’”

Jun’s mouth opened and closed like a fish’s, and no sound came out. Kai laughed some more. “You don’t have to say it right away,” Kai said. “I’ll give you...at least twenty-four hours.”
