“So, what does that mean for us?” Lawrynn asked.

Knowing how close they were, she knew that if Pain was still holding on to feelings for her, it would cause them problems.

“It doesn’t have shit to do with us. That’s some shit he gotta work out on his own. I just want you to know in case he tries some bullshit. Keep ya head on a swivel. It’s a damn shame that I’ve been through all types of shit with that nigga, but when it comes to you, he acts like a straight bitch. Just so you know, earlier, on the phone, I wasn’t doing that shit to show his ass shit. It was just that when he found out you were on the phone, he should’ve left, but he didn’t. I’m not gonna hold my tongue on shit I got to say to save a grown man’s feelings. He told me to shoot my fucking shot, so he can’t get in his damn feelings when I do the shit,” Murder said.

Lawrynn’s head shot up as she turned to look at him.

“Shoot your shot? Y’all were discussing me like that? So, what? He gave you permission, or did you pay him some money?” she asked.

“How the fuck you figure all that bullshit? It wasn’t nothing like that. I was telling him how stupid he was for doing that dumb shit to you, and he called himself being big and bad and talking all kinds of shit. One thing led to another, and I told him that if I got at you, I would change your life. He said that shit thinking that you wouldn’t give me the time of day. Seeing that we’re vibing with each other is just making him feel like a dummy. He’ll be alright,” Murder told her.

“What if he isn’t alright? What if he tries something just to get back at us for getting together? I know y’all are close and all, but if he feels some type of way, there’s no telling what he’ll do,” Lawrynn said, sounding worried.

“If it comes to that, I’ll just have to take care of a funeral and the child of a man who used to be my brother after I kill his ass. If he comes at me, that ain’t no thing. My trigger finger is gonna itch if he starts doing dumb shit to you. You’re gonna have to tell me if he tries some bullshit. I don’t want him walking around out here thinking he got one up on me, all because you ain’t tell me something. Promise me you’re gonna tell me as soon as something happens,” he told her.

“Okay, I’ll tell you if he tries anything. Do you know you can’t just go around killing everybody you have a problem with?” she asked.

Murder looked at her like she was the dumbest chick on the planet.

“What? You think they call me Murder because I negotiate shit with motherfuckers? Just so you know, I don’t kill everybody I have a problem with. I had a problem with you being with Pain’s ass, and both of y’all are still living,” he told her as if that made him less of a killer.

“You would’ve killed me?” she asked.

“Nah, but his ass? Hell yeah. Real shit, I was hoping one day he would slap you around a little bit, so I could come to the rescue. I would beat his ass in front of you and shit. Then, when I was done, you would cry in my arms and shit like the dumb ass white girls do in the movies,” he said and laughed.

“Really, a whole fucking scenario, though? Who the hell does that?” Lawrynn asked, trying not to laugh.

“I keep telling you I’m a different type of nigga man. Do you know the definition for insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result? Think of it like this, I’m different than the rest of them lames, so basically, I’m saving you from being insane for the rest of your life,” he told her seriously.

For the rest of the day, they chilled out in the house and just got to spend time with each other. Lawrynn had never seen this side of Murder. The more time she spent with him the harder she fell.

On the other side of town, Pain was in the house pissed about what happened with Murder. How could he not know that Murder wanted Lawrynn for real? All those times he told him that a real nigga was gonna snatch her up, he didn’t know his brother was plotting on his ex. He could deal with her being with anyone else other than her getting with Murder. Hell, she could even go gay if she wanted to. All of that would be better than her getting with Murder. Murder was violating in the worst way for even trying his hand with her. Lawrynn was finally showing her hoe ass wa

ys just like her cousin. That’s why he dogged bitches out like he did. None of these hoes out here were loyal.

“So, you got me carrying your baby, and you’re still out there fighting over Lawrynn’s ass?” Nikki appeared out of nowhere fussing.

Arguing was something they did at least three times a day.

“What the fuck you talking about?” Pain asked, trying to buy time to put a lie together in his head.

“Oh, nigga, you heard me loud and clear. Why you out here fighting over her?”

“I don’t know what you heard, but I wasn’t fighting over her. Murder came out and stole my ass, and that’s why we were fighting.”

It wasn’t exactly a lie, but it wasn’t exactly the truth either.

“Oh, is that what happened?” Nikki asked sarcastically.

Pain remained quiet as Nikki took her phone out, pressed a few buttons, then shoved the phone in Pain’s face. There it was, plain as day, Pain and Murder having an argument. Every word was crystal clear, even when he said that a brother doesn’t try to get with the girl the other brother loves. When it ended, Pain didn’t bother to look at Nikki.

“I do all this for you, and you still love her over me? I guess that video is you rehearsing for some ghetto ass web series, right, mother fucker? I can’t fucking believe you. You don’t give shit about me,” she fussed.

“Man, look, I ain’t mean none of that shit. I couldn’t look like a fucking fool out there. I had to say something to save face,” he tried to explain.

“Fucking pathetic. You made your choice. Am I not good enough to love?” Nikki asked, fighting back tears.
