When we got back from Rome, I did some soul searching, trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. The truth was, I’d never really thought of anything outside of the military before, and it was hard to see past it. The answer was there all along, staring me in the face, but it wasn’t until I saw it that I realized the simple truth of it; I didn’t want to leave the military behind, but I certainly didn’t want to leave Zoe ever again.

I talked to my old squad leader, and he came up with the perfect solution: train new Army recruits. Get them fit and ready for combat, and pull out the special ones, the ones designed for special ops.

I went home that night and told Zoe I wanted to stay in the military. It took me half an hour of her screaming and shouting and cursing me for wanting to leave her again to get the message across that I wouldn’t be going anywhere. I would be based in the local military camp, and the only way I would ever get called back to active duty was if there was a war so big they were drafting in civilians too.

When she eventually calmed down, she agreed it was a great idea and we sat up all night talking about our future. We both agreed we want kids, of course, we do, but we want to concentrate on ourselves first, on our careers. We decided to wait a few years, at least until Zoe left college and got herself established in her field.

She graduated six months ago, and the marine center she had spent her time volunteering in offered her a full-time position. She took it, and she tried to convince me this was her dream now. It was obvious she enjoyed the work, but it was also obvious that her passion lay with Sea World. We had been back many times, and Zoe had talked to several of the trainers.

One of them called her last week to say they had an opening. She had an appointment to go and chat with them this afternoon, and I can hardly wait to get home and hear all about it. Today is an informal chat that could lead to an interview and make her dreams come true.

I park the car and head up to the house, whistling to myself. I reach out to open the door, but it bursts open and Zoe throws herself into my arms. I laugh and catch her. She bounces up and down in my arms, her excitement clear to see.

“I guess it went well then.” I laugh.

She jumps back to the floor, barely able to contain herself as laughter bubbles out of her.

“That’s an understatement,” she says. “They offered me the job on the spot, Mac. I did it. I’m officially a Sea World trainer.”

I punch my fist into the air, laughing with her. I pick her up and kiss her.

“That’s amazing, well done. I knew you could do it.” I laugh.

She wraps her legs around my waist and kisses me again, deeper this time. I feel my cock stiffen and I forget about the aching in my muscles as she breathes fresh life into me.

“I think you should take me straight upstairs. We need to celebrate,” she whispers into my ear.

I don’t need telling twice. The thought of celebrating upstairs with my wife is just what I need after a long day. I step inside and kick the front door closed. I carry Zoe upstairs and throw her onto the bed, peeling my T-shirt off as she lies there, beaming up at me.

“Get ready to have your world rocked,” I growl as I dive onto the bed and grab her…

THE END
