She shook her head, pushing the wet hair from her face. Who would have known when she agreed to go with Reece this weekend, things would progress so quickly between them? She was still unsure where it was headed. Was he serious when he said he was falling in love with her? Could she truly believe him? She wanted to. She was way over the top about him. If there was one certain thing she could take away from this weekend, it was that. Colin Michael Reece Woodhouse was tattooed on her heart as surely as if the artist’s needle was still pricking her skin.

The shower curtain slid sideways, and Reece joined her under the water.

“You didn’t start without me, did you?”

She shook her head. “I was just enjoying the shower spray.”

“Do you want me to wash your hair?” he asked as he reached for the shampoo bottle, popping the cap. The scent of strawberries hit their noses. “Just smelling this makes me hungry again.”

She leaned her head back as he massaged the shampoo through the strands of her hair. “Wait until you get a sniff of my body wash and lotion. By the time I’m finished with my toilette, I smell like a fruit salad.”

“I bet you taste just as delicious,” he murmured against her neck as he traced his hot mouth along her collarbone. His hands left her head, moving down her arms and back up her torso.

He cupped her breasts, his slick fingers gliding round and round over her tight nipples. “Rinse your hair and let me condition it.”

She stood directly under the spray, the shampoo cascading over her skin. She turned around, facing him, as the water splashed in her face. “What about you? Can I wash you, too?”

He took a small step backward, leaning against the shower wall. “Be my guest.”

“I thought I was,” she said, moving forward and lowering her head to his chest. She began at his collarbones, kissing across his clavicles and down around his sternum, giving each of his nipples a tug with her nimble fingers and mouth.

“What scent do you want, Mr. Woodhouse?”

He grasped her head, pulling her mouth up to his. “I want your scent, Nicole, all over me.” He pushed her backward to the opposite wall, his knee coming to rest between her legs. He skimmed his hand down her side, over the flare of her hip, coming to the center of her, his long fingers parting her folds. He flicked her there, smiling when she jumped against his hand.

“Sensitive, are you?”

“Just a wee bit.”

He grinned wolfishly. “I’ll have you screaming before this is over, I can promise that.” He lifted his fingers, licking her juices from his fingertips as she watched in fascination. “Do you want a taste?”

Her eyes narrowed. Biting her lip, she ran her hand up and down his engorged flesh, her thumb running over the tip. She raised the digit to her mouth, sucking it clean. “I can get one of my own, thank you very much.”

He raised his eyes to heaven. “Thank you, God, I’ve found me a keeper.” She laughed, burying her face in his chest.

In the next moment, she was in tears, her roiling emotions getting the best of her. She sobbed against him, hugging him tight.

He turned them around, leaning his back against the wall and lifting her face to his as he lowered his head. Her mouth was hot against his own. “You’re all discombobulated, aren’t you?”

She hiccupped. “Well, yeah, wouldn’t you be? I mean, as of a week ago you didn’t know who I was. Now you’re telling me you’re falling in love with me and making my body feel things it’s never felt before. I don’t know if it’s real or if I’m dreaming and . . .”

He hugged her tight. “Slow down, baby. Take a breath.”

She exhaled loudly. “What happens when this is over, Reece?”

“Colin,” he corrected.

“Does it matter?” she asked in frustration.

He wiped the water from her face. “Yes, when we’re alone like this, I want to be Colin and leave Reece at the office, so to speak.”

She rolled her eyes at him. “Fine, what happens when this is over, Colin?”

He kissed her forehead. “I don’t know, but I don’t want to lose you. We’ll figure it out.” The water had grown cool, along with their ardor.

“I’m sorry I ruined the mood.”

He chuckled. “You didn’t ruin anything.” He helped her out of the tub, wrapping a warm towel around her.
