Sean turned to him. “I’ll follow them to make sure they are safe, but will stay back far enough so they can have their time together.”

“Great thinking, bro. That way I can take care of Mom in case she needs anything.”

Janet’s eyes widened. “I thought you said Carl was dead?”

“He is, but there is more you need to know,” Matt said.

“I’m out of here,” Sean said. “Best to stay as close as possible.”

“Go on,” Janet pleaded. “I want to know absolutely every last detail.”

Matt clued Janet in on all that had been going on, with assurance that he and Sean would make sure they would all be safe.

“I’m so proud of my girl for picking two wonderful men to share her life with.”

“Actually, Mom, She didn’t have a choice. Sean and I fell madly in love with her. She’s our world and now, and you and Kimmie are, too.”

Jena sat on the swings with Kimmie.

“Mommy, can we sing ‘The Farmer in the Dale’ like I did with Mr. Sean and Mr. Matt?”

“Sure, honey, let’s pretend we are very sad when we sing it.”

They both acted like they were crying and then they sang it happy and finally angry.

Jena was so happy being with her little girl again and having so much fun together.

“Mr. Matt and Mr. Sean are so funny, Mommy. Mr. Sean sounds just like all my favorite cartoon characters and Mr. Matt knows magic. He pulled a quarter out of my ear. I really, really, really like them, Mommy. In fact, I like them to the moon.”

“Mommy really, really, really likes them, too. In fact, sweetheart, Mommy loves them.”

“Like you love me?”

“Yes, like I love you—to the moon and back.”

“Okay, Mommy, then I love them, too—to the moon and back.”

“Kimmie, I have a very big, important question to ask you.”

“This big?” Kimmie stretched her arms wide.

“Yes, sweetheart, that big, and I want you to think very carefully about your answer, okay?”

“Sure, I will.”

“How would you like to move to Colorado with Mr. Matt and Mr. Sean?”

“What’s a Colorado?”

“It’s another state. You were living in New Mexico, which is a state.”

“What about Grandma?”

“She’ll go, too.”

“We all love each other, right?”
