“Mom, exciting?”

“Yes, dear, get on with it.”

She took a deep breath. “Please don’t be shocked about what I’m going to tell you.”

“Oh, Jena, for goodness sake, you love them both. Now please tell me the rest.”

“Mom, you never cease to amaze me.”

“I know they love you. It’s written all over their faces. So, where do we go from here?”

Jena told her Mom about her wonderful guys, about Destiny, and about all the friendly, quirky people there. She also told her about the common practice of polygamy.

“Jena, there have been two times in my life that I’ve been this happy. The first was when I married your dad and the second was when that good-looking race car driver and I had you. You tell me about this great town with its crazy, fun-loving residents and that we get to move there. I can’t tell you how happy you’ve made me. I will have two great sons-in-law that want me, too.”

“We’re not married yet, Mom.”

“That’s just a formality, dear.”

Matt, Sean, and Kimmie walked back into the room singing “The Farmer in the Dale.”

Jena thought they looked so cute together.

A big grin covered her mother’s face. “Come here, young men, and give your new mom a big hug and kiss.”

“Mom.” Jena was quite shocked at her mother’s forwardness.

“Jena,” Sean said, “I think she is absolutely wonderful.” He walked to the bed and gave her mom a huge hug and a kiss on the cheek.

“I love her,” Matt chimed in and he, too, gave her a big hug and kiss.

“These boys are brilliant,” her mom said. “They picked the most beautiful girl in the world.”

“Mommy,” Kimmie pleaded as she tugged on Jena’s pants, “I need to go potty.”

“Sure, sweet girl,” Jena said. “Guys, will you take care of Mom while I take Kimmie to the restroom? We need a little time together anyway, so I’m going to the park across the street where we can have some mother and daughter time.” She winked at her men.

“Of course,” Sean said. “My pleasure. Have a good time together.”

“That will give us time to visit with

your…I mean our mom.” Matt turned to Kimmie. “Be good for Mommy and take care of her. Make sure she looks both ways before crossing the street.”

“I will, Mr. Matt.” Kimmie grabbed Jena’s hand. “See, I’m being real good.”

“Yes, you are,” Sean said, smiling.

“I’m very proud of you,” Matt chimed in.

“Mommy,” Kimmie whispered, “Mr. Matt said he was proud of me.”

“I heard,” Jena whispered back. “Bye, guys, bye, Grandma. We will be back shortly.”

Matt watched Jena and Kimmie leave the hospital room.
