“Yes, you are, Jena,” Matt said, his eyes locked on her.

“Every bit of you is ours,” Sean whispered hotly in her ear. “Now and forever.”

“She’s close. I can tell.”

“Come for us,” Sean commanded.

Once again, she could not deny them anything. Their words, their touches, their love sent her over the edge and into much-needed release. “Yes. Yes. God, Yes.”

Chapter Nineteen

Jena sat in the living room with the whole family. They’d seen Doc Ryder that morning after they’d returned from Phase Four, and she was thrilled with her mom’s good report.

Jenna heard her mother’s cell buzz. Now that she felt safe, it was so good to have real phones instead of burners.

Since her mother was still in her wrist braces, she answered it. “Hello?”

“Hello, is this Janet?” a man’s voice asked.

“No this is her daughter. Who is this?”

“Hello, Jena. This is Gary Ryder. May I speak with your mother?”

“Please, hold on.” She hit the mute button. “It’s Mr. Ryder, Mom.”

“I must’ve accidentally given him my number.”

“You’re actually going to try to sell us that story, Mom?” Sean asked with a laugh.

“Maybe.”

“Accidentally…on purpose, you mean.” Jena grinned. “Do you want to talk to him?”

“Put him on speaker, please.”

Jena nodded and placed the phone next to her mother.

“Hello, Gary. This is Janet. I have you on speaker phone because of my injuries.”

“Well, hello, lovely lady. I was wondering if you would like to have that coffee in about an hour at Blue’s Diner.”

“Blue’s Diner. Where is that?”

“I thought perhaps your family could bring you to meet me until we get better acquainted.”

Matt nodded that he would. Sean gave her two thumbs up.

“You are quite the gentleman, Gary. My family said that would be fine and I can tell they are hungry anyway.”

“See you in an hour then.”

“Okay. Bye.”

Jena clicked off the phone. “Mom, you’re going on a date.”

“I know. That dear man must need glasses. Did you hear him call me lovely?”

“You are lovely,” Matt said.
