She’s blinking rapidly with her gorgeous brown eyes as she listens. She looks terrified and every protective instinct in me is screaming to take her.

What is she even doing here?

A little rich girl with no street skills should not be at a party like this.

I glance through the screen door and see Steve inside trying to get his friends riled up enough to come back here and fight me. My reputation should buy me enough time to get her out of here.

“Chipmunk,” I whisper to her. “We have to go. Now.”

“My friend…” she says, looking terrified.

A flare of anger burns through me. It better not be a guy. I don’t want to know what I’m capable of if she brought a guy here. Especially one who let her get into a position like this.

“She’s blonde,” she quickly adds and the tension leaves my body like a valve was suddenly turned open. “Black dress. Big boobs.”

“She left with a guy.” I saw her leave. I could tell that the blonde in the tight black dress was not from around here with her expensive jewelry and designer clothes. These girls stand out like bunny rabbits in a snake pit.

She shakes her head, not believing me. “Come,” I say waving her toward the broken fence. She hesitates for a second, but then follows me into the front yard.

“Her car is gone,” she says, staring at the empty curb with her mouth hanging open. Her tiny breasts rise and fall with her panicked breathing. “She left me.”

She pulls out her phone and stares at the screen in shock. No missed calls.

“I’ll take you home.” I’m pissed at her friend for ditching her, but happy at the same time that I get to be the one to take her away from here.

This girl is a portrait of fear. Her face is ashen white and her chin is trembling. She’s staring at me with rapidly blinking eyes as she tucks her elbows into her sides, making her body as small as possible. She doesn’t know what to do.

“It’s okay,” I say in the smoothest, calmest voice I can manage, which isn’t easy with the way my heart is thumping in her presence. “What’s your name?”

“Mackenzie,” she squeaks.

“I’m Colton,” I say as I offer my hand for a second time. This time she reluctantly shakes it.

Her palm is so smooth that it makes me moan. My dick starts to get hard just from her touch.

“Mackenzie, you’re going to have to come with me. You understand?”

She nods her head as she looks at me with her big brown Bambi eyes. This girl is so vulnerable, and I don’t know why, but it’s such a turn on. I want to be the big bad beast who protects her.

I see Steve’s friends gathering inside and it’s now or never. I squeeze her hand and start pulling her toward the sidewalk.

My motorcycle is parked a few houses down.

“Are we riding on that?” she asks with a panicked edge to her voice when she sees it.

“Hold onto me tight and you’ll be just fine,” I say as I climb onto it.

Steve and his friends are on the front lawn, looking for us. This isn’t a great time for her to hesitate.

“You need to hop on, chipmunk,” I tell her as I start the engine. It gets everyone’s attention and they start running over.

“I’ve never been on a bike. I don’t have a helmet!”

There’s no time to debate with her. We’re going to need a lot more than a helmet if those guys catch up to us. There’s about nine of them.

I grab her arm and pull her over my lap as she screams. She’s lying over me with her ass in the air, looking like she’s ready to be spanked. I would take my time and relish the moment if I wasn’t too busy turning the bike and getting the fuck out of here.

I speed off just before they get to me, swearing and screaming how I’m dead.

I’m cursing under my breath as I take off down the road. I have one hand on the bike handle and one wrapped around my curvy cargo that’s too precious to let go.

Those guys know where I live.

In fifteen minutes they’ll be there, fucking up my house and fucking up my shop.

It’s all I have and they’re going to take it from me.

Mackenzie lets out a whimper and I hold her a little tighter as I rocket through a red light.

Actually, it’s not all I have.

Not anymore.

I have her, and I’m not letting go.

Chapter Three

Mackenzie

The pavement is whizzing by my face in a terrifying blur. White and yellow-painted lines fly by as all of the blood rushes to my head.

I’d scream, but Colton’s knee is digging into my stomach, making it hard to breathe, let alone scream. If it wasn’t for his strong hand holding me against his hard body, I would be convinced I was about to die.
