We fly past a car and my face is so close to the tires that I can practically smell the burning rubber.

My skirt is flying up with the wind and I can feel the cool breeze on my ass. I’m sure that he can see my underwear right now.

I’m just hoping he can’t see the wet spot between my legs. Because although I’m mainly terrified, I’m also a little turned on. There’s something about being saved by this gorgeous guy that is getting me going in the naughtiest way. Seeing him fight for me and then feeling his strong hands pulling me against his hard body is really making my blood boil.

He slows the bike down and turns into an empty parking lot.

“It’s okay,” he says when he comes to a stop. “You’re okay.”

I’m still gripping his leg with stiff fingers that don’t seem to be opening.

He gently takes the bottom of my skirt and pulls it back down. A gasp sneaks out from my parted lips when I feel his hand grazing over the curve of my ass.

“What was that?” I ask as I finally jump up with my pulse racing.

“That was me saving your sweet ass from those vultures,” he says as he stares me in the eyes.

He’s stunning up close and I have to swallow hard to catch my breath. I quickly smooth my wild hair out as I try to regain my composure (not an easy thing to do with him staring at me like this).

“Maybe now you’ll stay on the right side of the tracks.”

I drop my eyes to the pavement as my cheeks start to heat up.

“It wasn’t my idea to come here. It was my friend’s.”

“Some friend.” His jaw clenches as his eyes narrow in anger. “I can’t believe she left you there.”

Neither can I.

We stare at each other for a long moment until I break eye contact and look away at the smattering of cars driving by on the street. It’s the middle of the night and I’m about forty-five minutes from my house. I can’t call my dad to pick me up. He’ll lose his mind if he finds out I’m hanging out around here.

“Well, thank you for helping me out back there,” I say as I fidget nervously with my purse. “That guy was seriously creepy.”

“You have no idea,” he says as he runs a hand through his dirty blond hair. “Little chipmunks shouldn’t try to play with wolves. Stay in your part of town from now on.”

He doesn’t have to worry about that. After tonight, it’s going to take me a long time to get up the courage to leave my house again.

I turn on my phone and try to pull up Google. My hands are all shaky and I hit an ad instead.

“What are you doing?” he asks as he watches me.

“Calling a cab.”

He grabs the phone out of my hands and turns it off. I stare at him in shock.

“You’re not going to get a cab to drive you all the way to Beverly Hills at this time of night,” he says.

I stare at him in shock. “How do you know I’m from Beverly Hills?”

He shrugs those sexy round shoulders. “Well, you ain’t from Skid Row.”

I can feel my cheeks starting to blush again as we look at each other.

“You’re staying with me.”

I hold onto my elbow as my eye twitches. “Excuse me?”

“It’s not safe for you out here,” he says as he looks around. My eyes follow his and I start to get all jumpy when I start to notice all of the dark corners and the hidden alleys with garbage pouring out. I don’t want to find out what kind of horrors are waiting for me inside them.

I step a little closer to Colton and instantly feel safer. I don’t think anything can hurt me while he’s watching over me.

“But I have to go home,” I tell him. My father will freak if I’m not there in the morning. He’ll probably call in the national guard. And knowing my father, he could.

“Don’t worry, chipmunk. I’ll drive you home.”

“I’d rather walk than ride over your knee on that thing again.” My hands are still trembling from my last ride.

“How about you ride on my lap instead?”

I swallow hard as my eyes involuntarily glance down at his package. That would be an improvement.

“And what about you?”

“What about me?”

“Are you… do those guys know where you live?”

He sighs as he watches me with those bright blue eyes. God, he hasn’t taken his eyes off me yet. “They do.”

“Are they going to come to your place to… hurt you?” I don’t even want to say it. The thought of him getting harmed makes me nauseous. I couldn’t bear to see that gorgeous face all bruised up.

“They’re probably already there, trashing the shit out of it.”
