“I’m Perry.”

“Well Perry. It’s time for you to move along.”

“Excuse me, we’re not done here.”

“Yeah you are,” said Nikki. She put her hand on Perry’s shoulder and began pushing him. Firmly ushering him out of the way. “Buh-bye now. Go on. Shoo…”

“But…”

“I said shoo…”

She gave him one last shove and since Perry lived his life by what was admittedly an archaic code of conduct, he really had no option but to listen. A formal duel was one thing. Fighting with a girl was quite another.

“This isn’t over.”

“Yeah it is,” Nikki added, shooing him away again. “Bye bye.” The back of her hand waving him off.

“So, you’re Romeo.”

“Yeaahhhh…?” he said slowly, drawing the statement out into more of a question.

“I’m Nikki.”

“Yeah. I heard.” He looked her up and down.

She was dressed even more provocatively than usual. Skin tight jeans over her ample hips, heels high enough to bungee jump from, dramatic make-up, entirely too much jewelry and “the shirt”. Nikki only pulled out “the shirt” on special occasions. Ones when she really meant business. It was a skin tight, black, poly tank with a plunging v-neck and horizontal slashes across the chest. The whole thing left very little to the imagination.

“Say, didn’t I see you last night at Cap’s?”

“Yeah you did. And I saw you. I saw you with my cousin.”

“Who’s your cousin?”

“Antoinette. Ring a bell?”

“Mmm… hmm…”

“You want to tell me what you were doing with her?”

“Wait. Didn’t you go out with Marco?”

“No,” she said, bristling a little.

“Yeah you did. A couple years ago.”

“Nope.”

“I think you did.”

“Whatever. What were you doing with my cousin?”

“Talking.”

“About what?”

“None of your business.”

“Really. What if I said it was my business?”
