“Fantastic! It’s all decided then. Nikki, go get dressed.”

With that Nikki headed upstairs and Mrs Cap settled herself happily into her couch. She was enjoying an immense feeling of satisfaction as she sipped her Moscato and made small talk with Patrick.

“So, tell me more about yourself. ”

Romeo popped the cork on a bottle of red, poured two glasses and handed one to Ant. She had changed before she came over. Snuck in a quiet shower, washed all that gunk off her face and officially depoofed her hair before slipping unseen out of the house. She looked much more her usual self now in a sexy black tank top, simple sandals, and jeans that hug

ged her in all the right places.

“Thank you,” she said, accepting the glass.

“Thank you for bringing the bottle.”

She had. She had recently bought a few to keep around the house. Something a little more grown up than that sweet bubbly her mom was always drinking. She grabbed one as she slipped quietly out the front door.

“So, this is your place?”

“Yup.”

“Mind if I look around?”

“Nope.”

Ant wandered about. Not very far of course, it was after all just a small, one bedroom, basement apartment.

“How long have you been here?” she asked.

“A few years.”

“And how often does the cleaning lady come?”

“Hey, that’s not fair. I didn’t know I was having company.”

“And you got all dressed up too…”

“Funny.”

He was in a well worn pair of cargo shorts and a dark gray, cotton t-shirt made silky soft from years of repeated wearings and washings. It was a little ratty, but it was clean. “You don’t like my clothes?”

“Your outfit?”

“My clothes. Guys don’t wear outfits, we wear clothes.”

“Is that so? ”

“Yes, that’s so.”

“Well, you know what they say, right?”

“What’s that?”

“A rose by any other name…”

“So you don’t like my outfit?”

She did like it. The t-shirt was softly inviting and showed off his arms and shoulders in the most flattering way. She liked it a lot actually. “It’s ok,” she said nonchalantly. “So what’s this?”

Ant had made her way over to the bulletin board above the dresser. On it was a faded picture of a little boy with his parents at Disney World. He was sporting a churro bigger than his face and mouse ka-ears on his head.
