“No, but you’re my biggest fan. You think I gave up the team without thinking about it.”

“You did,” Luke insisted.

Rex shrugged.

“You’re right. I did.”

“Want it back?” Rex asked.

“Would you be disappointed?”

“Hell no,” Rex replied. “I just want you happy.”

“I am.”

“You won’t have time for those eight kids,” Luke warned her.

“Maybe not right now, but I don’t plan to pop out over half a dozen babies at one time. We’ll grow as a family, and I’ll teach you what I know. It was crazy, not to mention immature, to step down all at once.”

“True,” Rex agreed.

“So why did you let me do it?” she asked, placing blame on him, just for kicks and perhaps the promise of punishment.

Luke winked. “You seemed hell bent on staying in bed.”

“I’m still pretty determined to stay there.”

Rex stalked her. “Well, why didn’t you say so?”

“But,” she began, placing her hands out in front of her, “you’ll have to wait until I get back. I have a busy weekend ahead of me and you have a farm to manage.”

“Luke can take care of this place. I’m going with you.”

“To hear you tell it, you aren’t too big on racing now.”

“I’m not,” he said, grabbing hold of her and guiding her palm to his cock. “But I’m really big on you.”

Chapter Twenty-Three

The next day

Nashville, Tennessee

Lucy loved racing, and part of the reason she enjoyed the sport so much was because of the atmosphere. The smell of carnival-style food filled the stands as she sat in the bleachers with Luke and Rex. “I still don’t understand why you don’t want to be in the pits with me.”

“Are you crazy? We have a much better view right here,” Rex pointed out.

“The suites are more comfortable. Heck, the top of some of the drivers’ RVs are more comfortable than this.”

“We’re content,” Rex assured her, kissing her cheek.

“I’m not,” she said. “I want you down there with me.”

Luke frowned. “I like being here in the stands.” He pointed at the small blue cooler tucked under his seat. “I can drink, eat, and be merry. I don’t have to listen to the cursing down in the pits or worry about whether or not I’m getting in your way. I’m satisfied right here. Thank you very much.”

Lucy stuck out her lip.

“Don’t start that,” Rex scolded her. “We came here for moral support. We’ll come down to the infield after one of your drivers skids across victory lane. Deal?”
